The third annual epicurean
evening in Sealy will be presented
by St. John’s Episcopal Church
of Sealy at the Knights of ,
Columbus Hall on Monday even-
ing, August 10 from 7:00 p.m. to
9:30 p.m. The epicurean evening
is a tasting experience of fine
foods prepared by Sealy providers
and some from the communities
around the area. Providers will
present some of their specialities
as a tasting treat to the public
from attractively decorated
tables.
The epicurean evening is an
occasion in which men and
women dress up in their summer
finery for an evening of enjoy-
“ment. The tastirigvent will offer
good things sure to satisfy every
whim and fancy, including
desserts. The theme this year is
originality.
This year’s leading judge is
Erik Worscheh, the retired
general and acting manager of the
Petroleum club, also former
catering manager of Beverly Hills
Hollywood Club and at the
Warwick and the Shamrock in
Houston. He will be assisted by
Ted Shaw of the Falls Country
Club of New Ulm and possibly
Gene Upshaw, retired general
manager of the Petroleum Club,
Houston.
The event, the third of its kind
in Sealy’s history, will also
feature entertainment and other
interesting decor. The congrega-
tion of St. John’s presents this
evening as a service to its
community in presenting the fine
eating establishments in and
around Sealy, and also as its
annual fund raiser for the church.
The public is invited to support
St. John’s and meet the providers
partcipating in this evening of
fine foods and enjoyable
entertainment.
Frank McRae is chairman of
St. John’s Epicurean committee,
with Susie Zapalac, co-chairman.
