HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1 WHEREAS, Sulphur Springs High School student Rachel Ming has 2 qualified for the 2007 Business Professionals of America (BPA) 3 National Leadership Conference and Contest to be held in New York 4 City in May; and 5 WHEREAS, Ms. Ming earned the right to compete at the national 6 event after placing first in the computerized accounting contest 7 during the BPA 2007 State Leadership Conference, which was held in 8 Corpus Christi and which was attended by 2,000 students from across 9 the state; and 10 WHEREAS, BPA is a national organization for students 11 preparing for careers in business and office occupations; its 12 conferences include business skills competitions covering 13 workforce education and training issues; and 14 WHEREAS, Rachel Ming is an outstanding student who has 15 demonstrated admirable dedication and perseverance in the pursuit 16 of her goals, and she merits special recognition for her 17 achievements at the BPA state conference; now, therefore, be it 18 RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas 19 hereby congratulate Rachel Ming on qualifying for the BPA National 20 Leadership Conference and Contest and extend to her best wishes for 21 the future; and, be it further 22 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 23 prepared for Ms. Ming as an expression of high regard by the Texas 24 House of Representatives and Senate.
