PULP FACT
In the days before modern developments in anesthesia, patients with irrevers-
ible pulp damage may have had reason to dread root canal therapy Today,
however, this procedure is tar less painful than the condition it seeks to correct
in fact, root canal therapy should be seen as a relief to the often very painful and
inflammation and infection which makes it necessary It is also no small matter
that root canal therapy is the only alternative to extraction when tooth pulp is
irretrievably damaged Tooth pulp is the structure of soft tissue at the center of
each tooth, extending down through each root canal, which contains blood
vessels and sensory nerves that render it very alive and sensitive to stimuli
When it becomes painfully infected and inflamed, root canal therapy may even
be welcomed.
Dentists do more than perform root canals, fill cavities, and make dentures. If
you have concerns about your oral health, your family dentist can help. Hiding
behind these five little words can be dangerous - "maybe it will go away." Call
instead for professional, gentle dental caie at 331-0020,1701 Fairway #20 in the
Wal-Mart Shopping Center Come see how pleasant a visit to the dentist can be
9 AM - 8 PM Mon & Wed . 9 AM -6 PM Tues. &Thur, 9 AM- NoonFri. We accept
most dental insurance (we II help process the forms).
P S Root canal therapy involves removal of the pulp: cleaning, shaping, and
smoothing of chamber and canal surfaces; and filling the dry and empty cavity
with an inert material
