of the oratorio "The Messiah" Friday

lovers were gathered.
The chorus of 1M voices was under

The two elubs will present the

at the Presbyterian Children's Home.

The Idee of a separate Christmas
tree for the Elka elub, to be in the
lodge room. has bean abandoned by
the Chriatmas Cheer committee of
the lodge, which met ea Thursday.
W. F. Nix is chairman of the com-
mittea.
It has been decided that the or-
ranization will support private Christ:
mas trees, rather than a venture of
its own.
The group of people living ta the
vlelnit at the smelter wili have a
Christmas tree aad the Elba hare
promised to coo to it that every child
attonding the program gets some
klad at a present.
Bev. X B. Fincher, poster of the
Ellwood Presbyterian church, ie giv-
ing a tree for the chtldren who live
in the vicinity of the McKinley
school and the Elks have also gives
Mr. Fincher the eemo guarantee of a
present for each child.
On the east side there is a district
lying south of the Deaver tracks aad
east of the Santa Va that plana te
have a tree, probably at the school
building. Thio will be a community
tree under the general management
of the principal of the school and
Mrs. Jack Pittman. The Elks will
aleo participate ia giving out presents
from this tree.
The presents given by the Elks
will consist of bags ef fruit, sandy
and nuts, enough to supply all chil-
dren present at the programs.
The lodge will also give out cloth-
lag and provisions as well as toys.

days to mark the graves of Lloyd
Ellery Eaton. Marina Corps veteran
of the World War. aad Oscar L
Taylor. private first-ciass. Company
I, 59th Beglment Infantry, both of
whom are buried in Llano cemetery.
Bills of lading for these stones
have al reedy been received.
Taylor's record shows that he
served in the A. E. F. from October
13, 1018 to August 5, 1019. He M-
Hsted in the army at Hugo, Okla,
on Jane 26, 1918 and was discharged
at Camp Pike, Ark, on August 14.
1919.
Such headatones as those can be
