Texas State Library and Archives Commission
About
TSLAC pursues its mission through preserving archival records, supporting public, academic, and school libraries, assisting public agencies in maintaining their records, and meeting the needs of Texans with disabilities in accessing information through their Talking Book Program.
The Archives and Information Services Division (ARIS) preserves and documents the shared heritage and culture of Texas by identifying, collecting, and making available the official archival records of Texas government. From historical treasures such as the first Texas Constitution to government digital records, ARIS maintains and provides access to more than 200 million pages of archival documents and more than two million volumes of printed library materials. The Texas Digital Archive (TDA) manages, preserves, and facilitates access to TSLAC’s electronic records collections, including those transferred by state agencies or digitized by the State Archives.
