Buchanan Dam during the month
of October, at their monthly

in attending the camp are asked

When W. L. Warmke moved to Brenham to take over ownership of the Brenham Butane Gas Com-
pany, there were some 150 customers on the books . . . '
Today, Warmke serves over.1,000 customers both butane, and propane fuel from his large stock tanks
located on Dixie Street about one-four mile North of Highway 290 Wert. ~
Warmke and his family came here from Webster in October, 1945, where he was employed by the
Humble Pipe Line Company. A native of Bellville, Warmkle moved to Webster in 1938 after receiving
his education in the Bellville schools, and working at Raccoon Bend. Today, he has one of the most
successful butane and propane businesses in the area.
The' downtown office of the company is located at 206 South Market Street. Upon entering the -
establishment, a customer notices the colorful display of Tappan ranges, Day and Night water heaters,
and Dearborn Heaters. The firm can also furnish complete butane and propane fuel systems and
Paine Central heating for both butane and natural gas systems.
Ready to serve you is Mr, or Mrs. Warmke, who assists her husband with the office work.
Brenham Butane Gas Company employs two drivers, Charles Kenjura and Steve Murski see to it
that the some 1,000 Washington County users of their products have plenty of fuel. Most of their
runs are to rural areas, although Warmke reports he has a few local customers.
The Warmke’s have one child, a son, Terrence. He was prominent in Little League baseball this
past season, playing second base for the Red Sox of the Washington County loop. He assisted his
team finish in a tie for second place. ‛ f

Houston, who has been chosen
as one of the bridesmaids for the
Eichler-Miller Wedding Septem-
ber 11, complimented Miss Lu-
cille Eichler, the bride-elect, with
a coffee Saturday morning. Scene
of the hospitality was the home
of Mrs. F. J. Navratil, mother of
Mrs. Bredthauer: The guest list
included thirty-five close friends
of hostess and honoree.
The round table in the dining
room was covered with a dark
green cloth and centered with col-
orful fruits arranged in an an-
tique iron scale, flanked by a
green glass punch set and the
silver coffee service. Pink asters
and other early autumn flowers

and glowing pink tapers lighted
the rooms?

nations were presented to the
bride-to-be; her mother, Mrs. M.
F. Eichler; and Mrs. A. C. Miller
of Carmine, mother of the pros-
peative bridegroom, A. C. Miller.

ver in the pattern Miss Eichler
has selected.

as ushers. Mrs. Billy Ganske was
in charge of the bride's book.
Immediately after the ceremo-
ny a large number of guests wer^
entertained with a barbecue sup-
per at the home of the bride's
parents.
The bride’s table held the three
tiered round wedding cake em-
bossed in white roses topped with
a miniature bride and groom. The
cake was cut by Mss Evelyn Mil-
ler and served by Misses Flor-
ence Witt and Marjorie Meyer.
Out of town guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Emery Hafer and Char-
les and Melvin Richter of Aus-
tain, Mr..and Mrs. Doyle Moore
