Contraction Affect Market.
New York. June 3.—There was a
sharp break in the prices of stocks
in the early dealings today, which was
particularly severe in the Pacific rail-
roads and copper industrials. These
suffered looses between two and three
points each and sold at lower prices
than in the break a week ago. The
discouraged public utterances by the
head of the Harriman system, unsea-
sonable weather for crops and busi-
ness contraction In various brancehs
of industry, lower prices for copper
and additional exports of gold affect-
ed the market unfavorably.
' New Road to Burkburnett.
A special* to the Dallas News from
Henrietta says: The surveyors are
on the ground ready to begin survey-
ing a railroad from Henrietta to Burk-
burnett. a distance of forty-five miles,
’ Hong the Red river valley. .
This surveying party passed through
Wichita Falls this afternoon on its
way to Byers to take up their work
