want to succeed John H. Stephens,
and every one of them say they are
quite sure that they will be able to
land the nomination. But Mr. Stephens
does not appear to be worried the
least bit. With only one opponent two
years ago he was elected by an over-
whelming majority) and was able to
do it without losing any time from
uthe duties incumbent upon a congress
man, while congress was in session.
It is more than likely congress will be
in continuous session from now until

Mr. Stephens will not have the dppor-
tunity -to visit his district ald make

tions the fact that this has been agi-

January 25th. Counties much smaller
than Wichita are holding successful
fairs every year and-there ia no good
reason why Wichita county, with her
reputation tor up-t-dateness, should
be behind in this matter.

dent— Wilson, Taft, Roosevelt Debs,
Chafin and Reimer, was 15,036,356.

may be that Judge Gary, who ever he

The people, however, have learned
that when a 'presidential election is
bought they are made to suffer after-
