Father De La Llana agd spoke ulow-
ingly of his virtues sad attested to
miracles he had performed. In 1060
his body was removed to the hureh
at Tajique, another one of the "eities
that died of fear,” os as Lummis has
it, "the eities that were forgotten."
The body was placed in a rude wooden
boffin to the right side of the altar,
having been carried Ibero by his be-
loved Indians when they abandoned
Cuarai.
When they fled from Tajique to
Ialeta because of fear er Apache
raids, they did not take the body
along and for eighty-five years it
remained in the erumbling ehurch at
Tajique, the walls of which are etiul
visible. Governor Maria Del Valle In
March 1750 accompanied by several
officers, a notary and three priesta,
visited the ruins at Corel bad not
finding there the remains of Father
De La Liana questioned several in-
dians who directed them to Tajique
where the body was found with
enough of the vestments to identify
it. The remains were then brought to
Santa Fe.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 29.-Promo-
tion-of officers is the most presaing
problem in the air corps of the armiy.
Assistant Secretary F. Trubee David-
son told the secretary of war today in
his annual report, saying junior offi-
cers are performing duties all out of
proportion to their rank. As a result
the officer morale is serlously im-
paired he said. Secretary Davidson
urged a solution by legislation during
the coming session of congress.
Mr. Davidson said that there is a
shortage of aircraft la the army.
“It now seems that the complete
program should call for 2,400 planes,
rather than 1,800," he declared.
“Motor development in the air
corps has been seriously handicapped
by the fact that thousands of Liberty
motors were left over from the war,”
he continued. “The Liberty motor is
nomical compared with modern mo-
tors, and congress should not be
asked to appropriate any more funds
for planes equipped with them.”
