AS a role, high-quality merchandise is high-
aI priced. But the Exide Battery is an
exception.
The prices of Exide Batteries not only com-
pare favorably with the prices of other bat- •
teries, but are unusually low when you con-
sider Exide’s standard of quality.
You can’t get a better battery than an
Exide, and it’s hard to find one more fairly
priced. Let us quote prices on the correct type
and size for your car. If you’re too busy, have

A Kennel Club was or- l
ganized here Monday night
when a group of faneiers
met in the veterinary office
of Dr. E. F. Lanham. The
organization was perfected
under the rules of the Amer-
ican Kennel Club, and the
following - officers were
elected:
Dr. Lanham, president;

Allen and V. W. Hogan,

It is planned to hold a beneh

NEW YORK, May 7—Although be
waa sold for a trunkful of gold, he's
• bird In n gilded cage.
That's the peculiar status of Lyn
Lary, the highly-touted young Jn-
fielder from the Coast, who fiads
himself gathering splinters in the
dugout of the Now York Yankees
instead af flitting about on the dias
mond nad gathering hard-hit ground-
era. This rare specimen of avia
shortstoppia, who cost more than any
other man on the team except Babe
Rath, has been cooped ap on the
bench while a player who coot lose
than one-tenth as much holds down
his job. »

By virtue of brilliant pre-meet
showings, Texss University Rice and
the Aggies will rule favorites.
Rico eopped the crown last year,

in its lino -up will bs hard to head.
Texas Christian, Baylor, Southern
Methodist and Arkansas have shown
little that would stamp them as
contenders.
Heading the list of stars who will
match speed and brawn in the two-
day festival is, of course, Claude
Bracey, SnsatinnalRiee Speed mer-
chant The meet will afford the
Southern Express his last opportunit-
yity to crack the present conference
mar for the century, and there is rea-
son to believe he will better the rec-
ord of 9 J set by Cockrell of Texas tn
1927.
Bracey bettered the recognised
world record of 9.6 both in the Texas
relays and Southern Methodist re-
lays, running ths elassie in 9.5 snd
3.4 on succeeding days. In the recent
Drake relays he did it in 9.8 on aa
exeeptionally heavy track. Given a
