The Herman Moon Goat Fry, now an annual event at the
Brownwood Country Club, was held Thursday night and as usual
it was a big success. The crowd was big and the food was
delicious. Bobby Jack Snow, Ronnie McGraw, and Herman
prepared the food. Herman says the "frys" may be scarce next
year since the kid goat crop is short because of increased
predator activity.
We were in San Antonio last weekend to see the Boston Celtics
play the San Antonio Spurs in an NBA League game.
The Spun were playing with only four reserves because of in-
juries and were unable to control the big, fast Boston played in
the last 10 minutes. The Spurs led most at the way mainly on the
shooting at George Gervin, their Super Star foward. However,
Boston kept sending in super players like JoJo White and John
Havlicek and they finally wore out the Spurs Havlicek scored 31
points and he hit 20 of those from 18 feet
Less than two minutes before the game ended, one of the
Boaton players jumped into the middle of some vociferous fans
and beat one of them up pretty badly. This seemed to ruin an
otherwise fine game for the Spurs.
A record crowd at nearly 13,000 crowded into the Hemisfair
Arena to get a glimpse of the world Caampion Celtics.
