1 WHEREAS, In addition to his professional success, Dr. Saca
2 also was bessed. with a wonderful family life with his wife,
3 Paulette Riggio Saca, who also served as his office manager, and his
4 children, Robert Riggio, Lauren Saca, and James Saca; and
5 WHEREAS, Diagnosed at age 39 with multiple myeloma, Dr.
Carlos Ramon Saca battled the disease for four years; during that
7 time, he participated in what were landmark treatments in the hopes
8 of extending his life and to allow some of the nation's top cancer
9 physicians in Little Rock, Arkansas, to learn more about this fatal
10 disease so that future patients could benefit; and
11 WHEREAS, Dr. Saca continued treating his own patients in
12 Edinburg despite the tremendous suffering caused by his disease,
Seven making home visits to many of his patients who did not have the
14 ability or resources to come to his medical office; through his own
15 example, he ivated his patients and served as their role model
16 and confidante;: and
17 WHEREAS, Dr. Sacass legacy continues years after his untimely
18 passing, and his memory continues to help many people to aspire to
19 be the kind of man he was; and
20 WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Ped a has paid tribute to the
21 life of Dr. Carlos Ramon Sacs by passing this resolution in in his
22 hono during the 79th Texas Legislature; now, therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas
24 hereby honor the life of Dr. Carlos Ramon Saca and extend sincere
25 sympathy to the members, of his family: to his wife, Paulette Riggi o
26 Saca; to his children, Robert Riggio, Lauren Saca, and James Saca;
27 and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
