lectures began and registration continued
today at the 40th annual Texas High School
Coaches' Association Coaching School.
Registration reached 5,046 Sunday night at
the close of the first day and the figure is ex-
pected to soar well above year-old record of
5.964 which was reached at Fort Worth.
Bob Debaney, who coached the University
of Nebraska football team to a national
championship last fall, delivered a lecture of
physical fitness to highlight first day activ-
ities.
Other lecturers during the five day meeting
include Bill Battle, University of Tennessee
football coach: Guy Lewis, University of
Houston basketball coach; Gerald Myers,
Texas Tech basketball coach; Ken Kelley.
Texas A&I track coach; and Lynn Laird,
West Texas State trainer
The All-Star basketball and football squads
went through workouts Sunday. The basket-
ball game will be played Wednesday night at
Hofheinz Pavilion and the football game
Thursday night in the Astrodome.
