A meeting of the Lower Colorado
River Flood Control Association was
held in Wharton Wednesday to dis-
cuss ways and means of securing a
PWA allotment for work at the
mouth of the river and in Matagorda
Bay.
Since -the removal of the great
raft in the river between Wharton
and Bay. City. a new raft has formed
lower down.
E. O. Taulbee of Bay City, presi-
dent of the association, made a re-
port on steps taken so far toward
securing PWA aid on the levee and
flood control project. The associa-
tion, by motion, instructed him to
continue the effort.
The association decided to name
a board of six directors, and selec-
tion of the board was left to - Mr.
Taulbee and to Vice President H. E.
Wilson of Wharton.
Ralph McMahon, state reclamation
engineer, attended the meeting, and
the federal district engineer's office
