We have all talked about the restoration for at least six or
seven years. Through the outstanding work of Represen-
tative Gus Mutscher, the State of Texas established an
incentive for all Texans to take part in the restoration
of Washington-on-the-Brazos with a grant of $500,000 for
a museum, to be matched by $200,000 inpublic or private
donations. The goal for total restoration is $100,000,000-
from public and private donations.
The citizens of Washington County have an opportunity to
show their pride in being the birthplace of Texas Indepen-
dence. Donations to this cause should be as personal as
