child’s. Let the direction be the
parents’ but have faith in the
child’s ability. He quoted Henry
Van Dyke, “This is my work, my
blessing, not my doom,” as a
right attitude after a career is
started.
Mrs. Peter Robinson, president
of the City P.-T.A. council, talked
on public welfare and told the
group that people have the right
to be different. She defined a
healthy personality of a child as
one who behaves toward others
as he would have them behave to
him. ,
Following a sack lunch. Girl
Scouts of Troop 14 gave two
skits on civil defense. The first
was about the woman who failed
to teach herself first aid and
what to do in case of an air raid
or bombings. She did everything
wrong and finally lit a match to
see and a gas explosion killed her
entire family. The second skit
showed the woman’s home in
which the family was trained.
Games were provided for the
children, flashlights to see. and
the attack was not an unpleasant
experience.
Mrs. James Whaley and Mrs.
Bill Biggar accompanied Carol
Clark. Ruth Pollard, Vicki Wha-
ley. Dicey Biggar, Joyce Hays,
Saundra Peterson, Ouida Kaps,
Sharon Baulch, Juanita McGehee,
