RAVENNA, Ohio (UP)—Capt.
Sidney Casbourne of the Ra-
venna Arsenal • guard recently
sawed off part of the antler of a
live and fighting-mad eight-point
deer—and got away without a
scratch.
The buck was locked, head-on,
with another buck on the Arsenal
grounds. Their antlers were so
entagled they could dp nothing
but jerk and puff.
A couple of arsenal workers
got ropes and tied each buck to
separate trees by the base of his
horns. Then Casbourne per-
formed his cross-cut surgery--
and jumped.
The bucks had had enough of
each other. After the ropes were
snaked off their heads they
trotted away in different direc-
tions.

Mrs. Joni Mary Wilson, 21, was
brought to the station by her
stepfather. Jack Ziegler, Santa
Monica, to whose home she had
gone, she said, after escaping.
Her husband, John Wilson, a
baker, told officers he and his
wife stopped their car while he
went into a liquor store to buy
cigarettes and upon his return he
found one man in the car with
his wife, the other standing be-
side the car. -
He said that when he ordered
the man out of the car, the other
hit him arid then they drove away
with his wife. He called police
from his nearby home.
When Mrs. Wilson appeared,
she said the two men approached
the car, an argument ensued, her
husband was struck, and she was
driven around the corner where
one man left and got into his own
car, apparently, while her abduc-
tor took her on a long drive in
her car through streets of Santa
Monica and nearby Venice.
She said she pleaded with him
to free her and kept talking to
him until he stopped, in Venice.
Then, she said, she tried to flee
but he hit her, then knocked her
down. When she got up and ran
screaming down an alley, she
said, he shouted, “don’t scream.
I‘m sorry. I’ll go home,” where-
upon he disappeared.
She said she got into her car,
drove home but found her hs-
band was not there so she went
to Ziegler’s home.
