This is the fifteenth edition of an Interstate Modern City Directory
for Baytown, Highlands and La Porte, Texas.
This Directory is different in every respect from the ordinary city
directory as issued by so called "association members." It is the belief
of the publishers that there should be as much improvement in the
publication of city directories as in all other lines of endeavor, and it is aJiIlO
our firm intention to furnish the public with the highest type of service
possible. ' f1
This Directory is the result of a thorough house to house canvass
call-back and checking system to insure as complete and perfect infor- S
mation as it is possible to obtain by careful and honest effort. The basic
value of such a work lies in its completeness and reliability. We are
proud of our reputation for such.
The extra valuable features of this Directory not found in most
directories are the number of children under eighteen to each family;
a census by absolute count; numerical telephone directory; criss-cross
telephone directory; cosmopolitan telephone directory; ownership of t!i' I!
homes in the alphabetical and street directories; a classified directory
of nationally-advertised brands of merchandise and a special listing of
all employed married women. Many of these features are used exclu-
sively by the Interstate and affiliated companies. '
It also includes a comprehensive and carefully complied classified i,fjBIpE
business directory. -
While in an undertaking of this kind some error is inevitable, yet 's"'
the publisher guarantees the quality of the book, and makes it a requi- I lfjf
site of their work that every subscriber must be entirely satisfied. "
The 1965 Baytown, Highlands and La Porte, Texas, Modern Directory `iSI1E
is offered entirely on its merits. With the approval of the business
public and Chamber of Commerce, the publisher hopes to supply this id
territory with another edition as soon as it is required. This company
promises that future editions will be compiled in the same careful and
exact method as this issue.
The Publisher wishes to express appreciation for the kind coopera-
tion and support which the enterprise has received from the people of
Baytown, Highlands and La Porte, and especially from those business
men whose public spirited support made possible its publication.
Respectfully,
