HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1 WHEREAS, Students and teachers from the Galloway School in
2 Houston are visiting the State Capitol on Thursday, March 27, 2003;
3 and
4 WHEREAS, Founded in 1993 by James H. Galloway, this
5 nonprofit, nondenominational private school possesses a successful
6 blueprint for an exceptional education, and its enrollment has
7 increased from 19 to 110 students in the preschool, elementary, and
8 intermediate grade levels; and
9 WHEREAS, The faculty and staff of the Galloway School strive
10 to help their students develop creative as well as critical
11 thinking skills while providing a Christian environment that will
12 nourish each child's self-esteem; the pupils enjoy the benefits of
13 a low student-teacher ratio, a curriculum rich in outstanding
14 learning programs, and teachers who are committed to providing the
15 highest quality education available; and
16 WHEREAS, By promoting academic excellence as well as building
17 strong character, the Galloway School is ably preparing its
18 students to face the challenges and opportunities of the future; at
19 this time, it is a pleasure to recognize these fine young citizens
20 and future leaders of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, That the 78th Legislature of the State of Texas
22 hereby welcome the faculty and students of the Galloway School and
23 extend to them warmest best wishes for an informative and memorable
24 visit to the State Capitol.
