turned to the excursion business.
He has turned his previous work
experience and a love of travel
into a successful company.
"You are penalizing yourself
if you don’t travel outside of the
country” said the sportsman. It is
a chance to view different cul-
tures, see the sights, in addition to
the hunting and fishing. He
believes “people are pretty much
people no matter where you are in
the world. I tell my clients to con-
duct themselves as gentlemen so
as not to perpetuate the stereo-
type of the “Ugly American!’
“I’ve never had a problem any-
where as a tourist” he said when
quizzed about the dangers of
travel, particularly when going to
Central America. “You will have
more problems in downtown
Houston!’ he laughed.
Out of country travel is really
not too expensive, especially
when you head south to Mexico
and Central America, he added.
Bush concluded his presenta-
tion with a question and answer
session and the invitation to call
for any excursion advice.

who die in office; and it was interesting to note that
in the recent vice-presidential debate that neither
candidate mentioned his qualifications for attend-
ing funerals.
The duties of the vice-president also includes
presiding over the senate when it is in session — if
he can find out when it is in session. But you seldom
hear of a vice-president presiding over the senate.
Most of them sleep at a home provided for him by
taxpayers.
The vice-president is supposed to enforce the
rules of the senate, but as far as is known there are
no rules. And the vice-president is supposed to keep
order in the senate when he is presiding, but it has
never been reported if a vice-president ever went
down on the floor to separate two or more senators
debating some bill of vital importance to our
welfare.
In times past — a few at least — delegates to the
Republican and Democratic convention have been
allowed, or thought they were allowed, to pick the
candidates for vice-president, but now they not only
don’t get to select the candidates for vice-president,
they don’t get to select the candidates for president.
I’m not sure that the delegates even approved
the nominations of their candidates at the 1988 con-
ventions, but they probably did. The TV networks
might have tapes showing that the delegates ap-
proved what they were told were the nominees.

You can find nutty characters in all sports, but
for me golf takes the cake. For instance, one day a
player asked our professional how to keep from
topping the ball.
The pro told him: "Turn it over!’

favorite shot is Scotch with a touch of soda. — TM.
