Sgt Lindsey received an attempt to
locate a silver Ford Mustang traveling
at a high rate of speed on Hwy 77
traveling towards Lexington. A silver
Mustang matching the description
was located entering the city at a
higher than allowed speed and was
stopped by officers. The driver re-
ceived a citation for the speed offence
Chief Davis received a second call
to the school regarding a juvenile male
using a cell phone camera to take pic-
tures of a female student. The student
reportedly held the camera under the
female’s dress and took the photo,
then showed the photo to friends. The
female student was notified of the in-

Chappell’s Bar on Houston St. in ref-
erence to an agency assist. While as-
sisting the Texas State Comptroller’s
Office, Ofc. Garza observed a white
female walking eastbound on Hous-
ton then turning north on Main. Ofc.
Garza observed that the female ap-
peared to be walking at a fast pace
after seeing Law Enforcement. He
turned on the overhead lights of the
patrol vehicle to speak with the fe-
male. Shawn Renfroe. Ofc. Garza
observed that Renfroe smelled of beer
and had slurred speech. She stated
that she had three beers, but was not
intoxicated. Ofc. Garza observed that
she was swaying and appeared to be
unsteady on her feet. She was on a
public roadway and was intoxicated.
She was placed under arrest for pub-
lic intoxication and transported and
booked into the GPD jail without in-
cident.
Sgt Lindsey received a call from a
concerned citizen reporting that he had
located an ATV covered with blood,
at the auction barn, and had also lo-
cated a fire arm at the scene. Sgt
Lindsey arrived at the scene, along
with assisting back up Lexington Of-
ficer BJ Connolly and County Con-
stable Buster Dussetschleger. Offic-
ers secured the loaded firearm at the
scene and soon discovered and secured
a second loaded gun. Officers searched
the area for persons possibly injured
and soon discovered several yards
away a white male laying face down.
When the man was searched by offic-
ers a third loaded firearm was found
on his person. The man had been
bleeding and at first thought to be the
victim of a gunshot wound; however,
no wound was discovered. Lexington
EMS was summoned to the scene and
examined the man who was determined
to be highly intoxicated and suffering
from a broken and bleeding nose. The
man was transported to Richards Me-
morial and transferred to Scott and
White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Of-
ficers were later able to interview the
man and learned that he had been
drinking, and elected to drive his ATV
and take several firearms to a storage
unit in Lexington. It is undetermined
where and/or whether the man
wrecked his ATV and received inju-
ries. or had fallen off the AI'V and
received injuries. The man's actions
remain under investigation.

Sgt Lindsey responded to the area
of the 500 blk. of N. Rockdale Street
where residents reported a snake. The
snake was identified as a copperhead
snake. and killed.
Chief Davis received a call on his
cell phone reporting traffic backed up
at the intersection of 7" and Rockdale
due to a vehicle break down. The call
was referred to Sgt Lindsey who re-
sponded to the location, only to find
the intersection clear.
Officer Damewood responded to a
vehicle lock out at the Country Green-
houses. Officers were unable to un-
lock the vehicle and the call was re-
ferred to a local locksmith.
Sgt Lindsey responded to a second
snake call in the area of the 700 blk of
7" Street where a second snake was
located and killed. It was unclear
whether the snake was poisonous or
not.
Officer Damewood received a re-
port from a local citizen who reported
approx $ 1000.00 had been stolen from
his residence. The man reported that
he had kept his money in a boot lo-
cated in a closet. The man allowed a
friend to spend the night at the resi-
dence. and reported the friend was up
all night prowling in the apartment.
The man asked the friend to leave his
residence and after the friend left, the
complainant discovered his money
missing from the boot. The matter is
under investigation.
Chief Davis called Sgt Lindsey for
assistance at the log cabin regarding
juveniles smoking cigarettes. The three
juvenile males were witnessed smok-
ing what appeared to be cigarettes by
Davis, while off duty and walking.
Davis called for a uniformed officer
and Lindsey responded. As Lindsey
arrived in the area the juveniles began
walking away f rom the cabins and were
confronted by Davis. Investigation
into the incident resulted in all three
juveniles being cited for minor in pos
session of tobacco products, and par-
ents being called to the scene to pick
up their children.
An unidentified citizen appeared at
the Lexington Police Department with
a wallet he had found. The wallet con-
tained $107.00, and family pictures.
The wallet was identified through the
family photos and returned to the
owner with money intact. This was
the result of one more honest local
citizen that the entire community can
be proud of.

clined filing criminal charges against
the juvenile student.
Sgt Lindsey received a report of a
14 year old female bitten by a snake,
while in the Moab area. The bite vic
tim was transported into Lexington
where Lexington EMS was called. The
victim was suffering from extreme
swelling and pain staled that she was
walking outside when the snake bit
her on the foot. It is unknown what
kind of snake was responsible for the
bite, but it is believed the snake was a
copperhead. The female was trans-
ported to Richards Memorial Hospi-
tal in Rockdale for treatment and ob-
servation.

Sgt Lindsey received a report of a
female locking her keys in her car
approx, four miles out in the county.
The call was referred to a local wrecker
to unlock the lock.

Chief Davis was summoned to the
Lexington High School regarding pos-
sible alcohol on campus. Faculty
members witnessed several students
drinking a substance from a soda
bottle. and examined the bottle. The
contents emitted an odor believed to
be an alcoholic beverage. Faculty and
police learned from the investigation
and talking with involved students
that a student had purchased an en-
ergy drink, and a non alcoholic straw-
berry daiquiri from a local store, then
returned to school. During the course
of the day the student mixed the two
drinks into one bottle where several
students drank from it. The mixture
was determined to be non alcoholic,
and the matter is being handled by
school officials.

Ofc. Ramsey observed a large crowd
in Bernie’s Bar and Grill parking lot
and drove in to patrol the area. As
she was exiting the parking lot, a 1996
Silver Ford Ranger fishtailed on the
gravel throwing rocks throughout the
parking lot. The vehicle headed west
on E. Hempstead and Ofc. Ramsey
stopped the vehicle. The driver,
Martha Barnett was intoxicated and
placed under arrest. She was trans-
ported to the GPD and secured in jail.

Officer Damewood assisted the
Lexington Animal Control officer in
rescuing a wayward puppy from Hwy
77. The dog’s owner was identified
allowing the return of the dog.

Ofc. Garza was dispatched to the
Sunrise Apartments in reference to a
disturbance. Upon arrival, he met with
the complainant, Alice Mane Daniel
who stated that she was watching TV
with her cousin, Michael Darrell
Parker, at his apartment when he
started to touch her and then pulled
her off the couch onto the floor. Alice
stated that she told him to stop and
he got up and she left the apartment.
Ofc. Garza observed no physical signs
of injury, nor were any reported inju-
ries. He issued a citation for assault
by contact and had Alice sign a com-
plaint on Michael.

Sgt. Harney met with a complain-
ant, Jessica Ray Ryburn at the GPD
in reference to Terroristic Threat. Ms.
Ryburn said that she and a couple of
her friends were at 550 S. Harris visit-
ing a friend. Paul Iselt. She said that
Paul Iselt and his wife. Brandy Iselt
are currently separated and Mrs. Iselt
moved out of Paul’s house. She said
Brandy Iselt showed up at Paul’s
house and began threatening her and
telling her she was going to beat her
up. Ms. Ryburn does not wish to
pursue any charges but just wanted
to have the incident documented.

Sgt Lindsey, while conducting traf-
fic enforcement on Hwy 77. stopped
a Dodge PU for a speeding offence of
speeding 66 mph in a 55 mph zone.
During the stop the officer discov-
ered a felony warrant had been issued
for the female driver's arrest for the
charge of theft. The female was taken
into custody without incident and
transported to Lee County jail.

Officer Damewood received a re-
port of a gas drive off from Cefco Con-
venience Store located on Hwy 77.
The complainant reported an elderly
female pumped $31.11 in fuel into her
vehicle, and then attempted to pay
$10.00 for the fuel. When the $10.00
payment was refused, the female told
the store clerk that she was not going
to pay for the fuel, then got into her
vehicle and drove to the Dollar Store.
The clerk recorded the license plate
number and description of the car, and
called police. The female was last seen
by the store clerk leaving the area. driv-
ing her car towards Rockdale. Tex. on
Hwy 77. The vehicle owner’s address
has been located and charges of Class
C Theft are pending.

Cpl Montgomery observed a white
Honda Civic pass in front of his pa-
trol car and did not have front or rear
tags displayed. He initiated a traffic
stop and while approaching the ve-
hicle. he noticed a paper tag in the
back window. The window was tinted
and the tag could not be seen from
behind. He advised the driver that he
was stopped for improperly placed
tag. While talking with the driver.
Christian Spiller, he observed the pas-
senger who looked like a wanted sub-
ject identified as Billy Huff. Ofc.
Garza had the subject step out of the
vehicle and he was identified as Billy
Huff by a tattoo on the right shoulder.
Cpl. Montgomery had Spiller exit the
vehicle, at which time he noticed an
open beer under the passenger seat.
He could see beer spilling onto the
floorboard. A search incident to ar-
rest was performed with only the open
container being found. The warrant
was confirmed and Huff was trans-
ported to the Sheriff’s office. Spiller
was given a warning and released.

to assist Lexington Fire Department
with a reported gas leak.
May 10, 2006
Sgt. Harney received a call from dis-
patch in reference to a gas drive off
from the Race Shop. The clerk stated
that the only description he had was a
blue van with a white female and white
male with a young child. The clerk
said that this female has stolen fuel
from him before. The clerk was un-
able to obtain a LP#. The total cost of
the fuel was $28.

Officers Garza. Lovato and Sgt.
Ramirez learned form the LaGrange
PD that a wanted subject was possi-
bly in the Giddings area. Ofc. Garza
had dealt with this subject. David
Watson, and could identify him on
sight. They entered into the bar lo-
cated at the 200 block of Houston and
observed Watson. They asked him to
step out of the bar and speak with the
officers. He exited the bar and walked
to the patrol vehicle. Ofc. Ramirez
asked David for some identification
and he stated that he did not have any.
but that he was from Schulenburg.
Ofc. Garza stated. “David Watson put
your hands behind your back" at which
time David turned around as if to put
his hands behind his back. He then
started running around the back area
of the bar. Officers notified dispatch
over the radio of a foot pursuit. Of-
ficers gave chase and caught David
crossing the railroad tracks. David
stated that he was running because he
did not want to go to jail and that he
did not have any warrants. Ofc. Garza
notified dispatch and received a hit
confirmation on the warrant for felony
Charge of Felon in Possession of a
firearm. He was transported and
booked into GPD Jail without inci-
dent. While being booked David was
informed that he was being charged
with Evading. He stated that he did
not need another charge and asked not
to be charged with evading. Ofc. Garza
filled out all necessary paperwork for
the charge of evading and placed them
with this report.

Sgt. Harney was contacted by Chief
Lapham to go to Judge Fischer’s of-
fice to pick up a Capio Profine War-
rant for a GHS student who was in
SAC at the high school. Upon arrival
at the school. Sgt. Harney met with
Mr. Rood, the Assistant Principal
who brought the student into his of-
fice and explained that he had a war-
rant for his arrest for failing to attend
school. He was taken into custody
and transported to the GPD and pro-
cessed.

Officer Damewood assisted Gid-
dings Police Department in locating a
Chevy PU lowing a travel trailer in-
volved in damage to a convenience
store located in Giddings. The vehicle
was located traveling through Lexing-
ton and stopped. Officers secured the
vehicle until DPS troopers appeared
and escorted the vehicle back to Gid-
dings.
