I was cleaning up my computer

day ( a phenomenon) and came
across stuff I haven't seen since
1987, also, a small book, titled,
"Life's Little Instruction Book".
Unlike the other stuff I found. I'm
not really sure where this little

I have to wonder if my husband
didn't plant it there, in hopes that
someday I would clean up my desk

Hepatitis A Vaccine
Recommended for
Children in Some States
Hepatitis A is highly conta-
gious. According to recent esti-
mates, 125,000 to 200,000
Americans are affected each year.
The segment of the population
most commonly infected is chil-
dren between the ages of 5 and
14 years. This is probably due to
the close contact that young chil-
dren have with each other. The
virus that causes hepatitis A is
spread by the oral/fecal route
from person-to-person contact.
Earlier this year a committee
of The Centers for Disease Con-
trol recommended that children
living in states with a high inci-
dence of hepatitis A receive vac-
cination against the virus. States
with high hepatitis A infection
rates include Arizona, Alaska,
California, Idaho, Nevada, New
Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon,
South Dakota, Utah, and Wash-
ington. The vaccine is already
recommended for children en-
tering school or daycare in Okla-
homa and parts of Texas and
Arizona.

Sit back and think about it for a
few minutes. We just completed the
very last Aqua Boom festival of the
century. And what a way to end it.
You could not have asked for a bet-
ter ending. There were thousands of
people here in Kingsland to cele-
brate, get some sun, play on the
water and watch a great fireworks
show. Sure enough, we did
"Sparkle and Shine, with Aqua
Boom 99."
The big questions of the day is
who won all the different events and
raffles. Here is our list of winners.
The Sea Doo was won by Dean
Perry of Kingsland. The Saturday
Poker Run winners were Deanna
Schattel of San Antonio, (first
place with five Aces; Sue Burton of
San Antonio (second place with
five sixes); and Craig Meyers of
San Antonio (third place with five
fives). It appears San Antonio was
very well represented in Kingsland
this last weekend.
The Aqua Boom Retail Mer-
chants Shopping Spree was a big
success this year with 34
participating merchants. The win-
ners of the three shopping sprees
were Linnea Spitzack of Kingsland,
