The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Rosalia Fleming. Fleming was born in 1924. She and her family lived on the island of Yap, and were there for the duration of the war. Her father worked as a fisherman. The interview also includes Mr. Floris Fleming, whose family also moved to Yap around the same time as Rosalia. His father worked for Magistrate O’Keefe as a bookkeeper. They both recall their experiences when the island was taken over by the Japanese, their families moving to Guam and life during Japanese-occupied Guam in wartime.
