Decatur chapter No. 242, Order of
Eastern Mtar, met in regular session
Tuesday evening. Feb. 3, and to pav
a tribute of appreciation to Mrs. J.
V. Prunty, who has Ins'll appointed
Deputy Grand Matron of the Grand
Chapter of Texas.
An < pening feature was a march
conducted by the officers of the
chapter, after whih the Worthy Ma-
tron. Miss Willie Rteeves, invited the
conductress, Mrs. Ollie Bailey, to es-
cort Mrs. Prunty to the East where
she was given a cordial welcome by
Miss Reeves. Mrs. Prunty responded
in her charming way by expressing
her appreciation of the evident re-
gard held for her by the members of
her <1111 pt er and the chapters of her
division, which were well represent
ed.
No member of th«k chapter is more
esteemed than is Mrs. Prunty. who
in the past has served as worthy ma
tron and who. since the organisation
of the chapter, has been a loyal, use-
ful and faithful member.
Miss Iteeves in behalf < f the chats
ter presented Mrs. Prunty with a
lehely Italian lace cloth. Mrs. Prun-
ty very effectively expressed her
thanks to the chapter for this token
of appreciation.
