The City of Giddings will receive bids for the 1994 TCDP Sanitary Sewer
Rehabilitation Project until 2:00 P.M. on March 14, 1996 at the City of
Giddings City Hall, 118 East Richmond, Giddings, Texas 78942. The bids will
be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 P.M. on March 14, 1996 at the same
location.
Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications
are on file at O'Malley Engineers, P.O. Box 1976, Brenham, Texas 77834-1976,
(1306 North Park Street, Brenham, Texas 77833) at which location specifica-
tions can be obtained.
Copies of the Bid/Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing $50.00
with O'Malley Engineers for each set of documents obtained. One deposit
check will be refunded to General Contractors who submit a written proposal
to the Owner and return the documents to the office of the Engineer within
five (5) days of bid opening. Deposits of General Contractors who do not sub-
mit a written proposal, suppliers and subcontractors are not refundable.
A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety
shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to
the City of Giddings or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may
be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined
prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas
Department of Housing and Community Affairs and contained in the contract
documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder
must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discrimi-
nated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin.
The City of Giddings reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive
any informalities in the bidding.
Bids may be held by the City of Giddings for a period not to exceed 30 days
from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and
investigating the bidders qualifications prior to the contract award.

In accident last Friday
A Lexington man was in an
accident last Friday, Feb. 16
at 10:05 a.m. two tenths of a
mile south of Lexington on
Loop 123.
Involved in the rear-end col-
lision was a 1994 Ford Escort
driven by Lilly Jean Wilson of
Lexington and a 1991 Mazda
Protege driven by Alexis
Valerina Goertz of Austin.
