Professionally trained individuals participating in this screening
include special education teachers, teacher assistants, counselors,
educational diagnosticians, and speech therapists. This screening
includes questions and activities in the areas of fine motor, cognitive-
verbal. and gross motor skills. Approximately 40 minutes are required to
complete the screening.
The Giddings Independent School District, in cooperation with the
Giddings Special Services Cooperative, will screen 3 and 4 year old
children in the school district for the Early Childhood Program on Monday,
August 2nd between the hours of 9:00 and 12:00 at Giddings Elementary
School located at 1010 E. Industry.
This screening will help parents as well as teachers determine the
child's readiness for kindergarten. The Early Childhood program is
designed to help children who do not have the skills necessary to be
successful when entering school. It is not designed for the student who is
meeting normal developmental milestones; nor is it a program for a child
whose only need is to learn English.
(Season Pass - $11.00, $12.00 After Sept. 1st)

fees for the cities of Giddings
and Lexington at the Lee
County Clerk Office.
A request for a contract with
Cap Rock Communications for
telephone long distance and
other services was tabled.
They appointed election
judges for one year.
Commissioners clarified
wording of a motion to distrib-
ute fees assessed up to $500
in criminal cases in the
County Court to the Road and
Bridge Fund. Additional fees
will be placed in the General
Fund.
They approved an exchange
of property and easements at
the Giddings-Lee County Air-
port, as requested by the air-
port board.

Lee County Commissioners
learned that the employee
health insurance will cost
17.5% less this year per per-
son than last year.
The commissioners, meeting
in regular session Monday
morning, heard this informa-
tion from the Texas Associa-
tion of Counties. Each em-
ployee rate will be reduced
from $405 to $334 per month.
The county pays for the em-
ployee insurance.
