Colonel I. N. llakcr yesterday received the

death was prosecuting attorney of the Kagle

Hawks In Austin.
From the Austin Statcmin it would appear
that Mr. Edward L. Hawks who is missing
has arrived in Austin but what he is doing
there is a mystery. It is stated positively
that two women are at the bottom of his
troubles and to use an expression more strik
ing than classical they are making it hot for
him. In lict instead of being at his name
appears a hunter lie is being hunted down.
Schluluher Monnuient.
Mr. Ed Steves and Major Joe Dwyer will
to morrow morning commence making their
calls on the citizens for subscriptions to the
Schleicher monument fund and it is to be
hoped the committee will not be bluffed off
that everyone will subscribe their mile. The
people in the country have already been at
work making collections and nothing has
been done in Sin Antonio. A liberal sub-
scription should reward the labors of Messrs.
Steves and Dwyer.
