Shower Honoree

Mrs. Erle Bennett, a recent bride,
was honoree for a gift shower on
Wednesday night of this week, the
hostess being Mrs. David Seibert, at
her home. Mrs. Bennett is the for-
mer Miss Sharlene Elliott.
The tea table held gladioli in pas-
tel shades. Mrs. Edna Downey pre-
sided at the silver coffee. service and
Mrs. R. E. Kirkpatrick, Sr., served
the cake. The buffet held an attrac-
five bride doll.- Games of interest
were played, with prizes being pre-
sented the honoree.

Rebekah Lodge
Plans Activities
The Rebekah Lodge met last
Thursday night, when numerous
plans weere made for lodge activi-
ties. Mrs. A. L. Ruff, noble grande,
presided.
Plans were made for a quilting
party and covered dish luncheon
which was held Wednesday of this
week at the home of Mrs. Nannie
Newton.
The lodge will sell plastic food
bags, Christmas cards, and cook-
books, which contain valuable
recipes, all of which will make at-
tractive Chrstmas gfts. They may
be had from any member of the
lodge.

twelfth birthday anniversary on |
Saturday afternoon by hie mother, 1
Mrs. Sig Nameth, with a party. The |
afternoon was spent in games, fol- §

her bridge club on Thursday after-
noon at her home. Mrs. R. W. Maier-

Girl Scouts On
Hike Saturday
Members of Girl Scout Troop No.
5, were taken on a hike Saturday
morning about a mile south of town.
The girls were taught to make fires,
; and took their lunches.
Girls in the group were Zeta
Baum, Pauline Vanderpool, Clydell
and Jane Hollon, Joan Strittmatter,
Cora Nell Crow, Audrey Ann George,
Patsy Porter, Betty Reid, Virginia,
* Hay, Jean Reger, Eloise Johnston.
They were accompanied by Mrs. R.
G. Boller, Jr., leader, Mrs. E. J.
Snow and Mrs. Clyde Hollon, com-
'mittee mother.
Mrs. A. E. Bowman and daughter,
Miss Lena Bowman, left recently for
their home in Hoquiam, Washington,
after a visit here with Mrs. Bow-
man’s mother, Mrs. A. A. Brunk,
and Mr. and Mrs. Woody Hargraves.
Mrs. Hargraves and Mrs. Bowman
are sisters.
Mrs. M. E. Coalley left recently
for Kansas City on a business trip.
