Lincoln Meets
Winchester In
Championship
Winchester defeated Man-
heim 3-0 Sunday at Manheim,
entitling them to play Lincoln
in a 2 out of 3 series to deter-
mine the champion of the Com-
munity Softball League. 1
Wilbert Pietsch was the win-
ning pitcher giving up only
three hits, no runs, and 15
strikeouts. Fritsche got a single
in the first inning of the ball
game to start things off. Nor-
bert Wacker slammed a triple
to bring in Fritsche. Victor
, Zoch singled also to bring in
Wacker to make the score 2-0
at the end of the first inning
Victor Zoch got another sin-
gle in the third to bring in
Wilbert Pietsch for the third
and final run of the game.
Victor Zoch and Roy Pietsch
lead their team with 2 hits
each.
Victor Wachsmann pitched for
Manheim giving up eight hits
- and three runs.
V. Wachsman. Allen Orts and
Milton Kieschnick each got a
single for Manheim.
Lincoln and Winchester will
meet for the first game Sunday
at 4:15 p.m. at Winchester.
Winchester has held the cham-
pionship for 2 consecutive
years.
Lincoln has defeated Win-
chester twice this year in regu-
lar season play and will try to
win the trophy this year.

AND FRIENDS
Mrs. Robert Cox (nee Emma
Melcher), youngest daughter of
Wm. Melcher, and ehr sons, Ro-
bert Jr., accompanied by her
oldest son Billy Sehlemmar and
his wife and 2 children from
California where he is stationed
while in service of the navy
came to visit friends and rela-
tives in Texas and also attended
the Melcher reunion which
they enjoyed very much.
They came all the way from
Kennewich, Washington and
were very tired when they ar-
rived by car Aug. 6 and return-
ed home August 12.
