excellent public schools make it a
most desirable location for parents
who wish to give their children a
good education. Bring your children
to Texarkana to educate them. We
also have good churches of all denom-

Christian Association well organized;
and no city is mere healthy or has a
better water and electric light system.

The large attendance on the series
of revival meetings now in grogress at
the First Baptist church of this city
continues nightly and the meetings
continue to grow m interest as they

once earnest and eloquent.

college and school facilities besides
the future outlook of the city offer
special inducements to all such gentle-

marked as to be easily perceptible to
all.

Skin Cancer Cured.
(Testimony from the Mayor of Se-
quin Texas.)
Sequin Tex. Jan 14 1893.
Messrs. Lippman Bros. Savannan Ga.
Gentlemen —I have tried your P P
P for a disease of the skin usually)
known as skin cancer of thirty years’!
standing and found great relief; it pu-
rities the blood and removes all irrita-
tion from the seat of the disease and
prevents any spreading of the sores. I
j I have taken five or six bottles and [
' feel confident that another course will)
efi’oet a cure.
It has also relieved mo from indi-
gestion and stom <'h trouble.
Yours tru'y
Gait. W. M. Rust
Attorney at Law.
Benton Ark. May 20 1892.
Messrs. Lippman Bros. Savannah Ga.
Gentlemen —1 have hail rheumatism
about two months. Last winter I
was confined to my room most of the
time. I saw an advertisement in the
Saline Courier recommending P P P
ns a cure for rheumatism. I bought
three bottles but before I got through
with the third bottle 1 was cured and
have not felt the least effect of rheu-
matism since. It is undoubtedly the
beat remedy for rheumatism I ever
tried. I can cheerfully recommend it
to the public. Yours truly
1). M. Cunningham.
The Democrat acknowledges the
pleasure of an interesting visit from
Capt. C. S. Croom of Mooringsport
La. one of the oldest and best known
citizens of Northwest Louisiana. Mr.
Croom settled at Mooringsport in
1851 and has resided there continu-
ously from that date until the present
time. He is naturally interested in |
the proposed construction of the
southern extension of the Texarkana
& Ft. Smith railway which according |
to preliminary surveys and the beet
engineering estimates of the line of|
direction to be adopted for the new
road will cross Caddo Lake at or in
the immediate vicinity of Capt.
Croom’s place of residence. While
here Mr. Croom added his name to
the Daily Democrat’s list of sub-
scribers.
A joint meeting between the city
council and public school board of the
West side was held on yesterday to
consider a matter of public interest
and general importance to the city
the same being the construction of a
new and handsome public school
building and city hall. Another meet-
ing of these bodies has been jointly
called for to-night to consider farther
on the subject. The size cost and lo-
cation of the school building depends
upon the action of the outlying su-
burban districts adjacent to Texar-
kana Texas. Should these districts
consent to enter into and become a
part of the West side municipality
then a central school building will be
erected to cost in the neighborhood
of *20000. Such a building would be
an ornament to the West side and a
credit to the entire city. The city hall
is also intended to be a handsome
structure adequate to the demands of
a live and growing city. The meeting
to-night will be of unusual impor-
tance and definite conclusions it is
hoped will be reached before its ad-
journment.
Careful Preparation
is issential to purity of foods. It is
wisdom and economy to select those
that are pure. The Gail Borden Ea-
gle Brand Condensed Milk is prepared
with the greatest care and infants are
assured the best. Grocers and drug-
gists sell it.
