Photograph of Echium auberianum growing on a dry, rocky, steep slope of volcanic soils in the area surrounding El Teide on Tenerife Island, Canary Islands. The plant has an erect stem with dull-green lanceolate and linear-shaped leaves with a rough texture due to the presence of fine hairs. Vibrant blue-violet-colored flowers grow from alternating stalks along the stem. Pink-colored buds, yet to fully bloom are adjacent to flowers that are tubular shaped with a funnel-shaped corolla with five lobes, with visible filament and anthers.
