MRS. EULA GILMORE
of the Beautification Commit-

Chamber of Commerce, has
■ given a lot of thought and time
to the planning of the upcom-
ing Clean-up, Paint-up, Fix-

Mrs Polk has divided the
town into sections according
to the sections which each city
commissioner represents.
Each section of the town is

make the Campaign succeed.
Mrs Polk poined out that
the Chamber Committee can
not actually clean up the un-
sightly areas. It will be up to
each citizen to do his part.
We should all check to see
where weeds need to be cut,
trimmed, and bundled to be
hauled off. Shrubbery next
to street corners needs to be
trimmed. It has been noted
that there are several dang-
erous corners because the
shrubs have not been suffi-
ciently trimmed for motorists
to see oncoming traffic. The
weather is ideal for painting-
around the house. Besides
painting improving the ap-
pearance of your home, it also
preserves the wood. Theseare
but a few suggestions of ways
to participate in the Campaign.
The city will have an extra
truck to make the route on
the regularly scheduled days.
If you would like a can liner
to put your trash in, come by
the Chamber office, and the
Beautification Committee will
furnish you with one.
‘T think the businessmen of
Brenham are doing an excell-
ent job in painting up and fix-
ing up downtown.” stated Mrs
Polk. ‘‘I et’s start making an
equal showing in the resi-
dential areas.”
