Goldthwaite, Texas
Dear Sir,
I am enclosing a picture
and some information about
my daughter, Lisa, that I
hope you will consider for
publication in your news-
paper. I was born and grew
up in Goldthwaite. My
parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.G.
Blackburn are current resi-
dents there. I have many
relatives in the area, too
many to name all of them'
but I would like it if some
could be included in the
article because of the love,
support and encouragement
they have given my daugh -
ter and me.
I always enjoy reading
your paper and have shared
some of the articles with
friends here. I especially
enjoy the weekly report
from the sheriffs depart-
ment and the ones when the
old Bird was Younger.
I recall vividly when I
visited the Eagle Office as a
Girl Scout working for a
merit badge in journalism
and had an article written
about my visit. Now my
daughter writes for the
Tulsa County News and is
taking journalism.
Thank you for all the
years of keeping me in
touch with "home", for if
“home is where the heart
is”, then Goldthwaite is
surely home for me.
Sincerely,
Barbara B. Roberts
