Teodoro Perez
Not a day goes by that we don’t
think about you, dad. We miss you
dearly and that will never change.
Our hearts still ache with sadness,
and secret tears still flow. What it
means to lose you, no one will ever
know. In life we loved you dearly,
in death we love you still. In our
hearts you hold a place no one else
can fill. It broke our hearts to lose
you, but you didn’t go alone, for
you took a part of us with you the
day God took you home.
We miss you dad and we will always
love you.

The Power of the Gospel
Acts 19:20
A changed life is a beautiful thing to see. The change may be physical,
emotional, or spiritual. When we talk about the power of the gospel, we are
talking about spiritual change. This is what the message of Jesus Christ
does...it changes lives. The study this week deals with this power.
In Acts 19:1-6 we find Paul correcting an error in doctrine. The people he
was talking to had been baptized because they had repented of their sins.
Paul taught them that repentance is only the first part of the gospel. They also
need to put their faith in Jesus Christ. When they did, the Holy Spirit came
and baptized them in the spirit. This was evident by their prophecy and
speaking in other languages. The Holy Spirit brought about spiritual change
when they put their faith in Jesus Christ.
In Acts 19:11-16, we find that the power of the gospel can be seen by the
miracles that occurred. People who were ill were healed by touching Paul’s
clothing. Handkerchiefs that touched Paul were taken to people who were
demon-possessed and the demons left them. There were people who tried to
imitate Paul, but they failed. Today, we also find people who try to imitate this
and they also fail.
Finally, in Acts 19:17-20, we see that the power of the gospel can transform
lives. In this text, everyone who believed in Jesus had his or her lives changed.
Those who had been involved in magic burned their books and changed their
evil ways.
Are you tired of living the way you live? Would you like a changed life?
Would you like to have peace in your life and enjoy a good night’s rest? The
gospel can transform your life. For more information, read your Bible and you
will find life. The power of the gospel is in God’s word.
It is really very simple. All one has to do is believe four very important
truths in God’s word. The first one is John 3:16 which teaches us that God
loves us and wants to have personal relationship with us. The second is that
we are sinners; this is found in Romans 3:23. The third one is that Jesus paid
for our sin; this is found in Romans 6:23 and the fourth one is that Jesus can
reconcile us to God; this is found in Romans 5:8.
If you believe these truths and trust in Jesus, you will be transformed.

CATARINA RUIZ
Passed away 1 year ago, May 21
A million times we've needed you, a million times we've cried. E
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still,
For in our hearts you hold a place no one could ever fill.
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you and whispered, come with me.
God broke our hearts to prove to us he takes only the best.
You had a friendly word for each of us and died beloved by all.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone.
A part of us went with you, the day God took you home.
To your resting place we visit and we place the flowers with care,
