cratic party in Miller coun-
ty.

“We believe that the rank and file
of the Democratic party should at
once assert themselves in the Dem-
ocratic party on record in favor of
the immediate restoration of the
free and unlimited coinage of gold
and silver at the present legal ratio
of 16 to 1 as such coinage existed
prior to 1873 without waiting for
the aid or consent of any other na-
tion; such gold and silver coin to be
a full legal tender for all debt’s pub-
lic and private.”
There is a bright side and a dark
side to life itself and to every event
in life. We can choose our point of
view it is not forced upon us. We
can resolutely look toward the light
or away from it. There is no cheer
in gloomthere is no gloom in cheer.
Our duty toward our fellow man
and to ourselves demands that we
should recognize and be grateful
for the light that is and thus honor
God help others and be glad our-
selves.
Cleveland has developed into some-
thing of letter writer like an ex-
statesman of Arkansas. In his last
effusion written to Gov. Stone of
Mississippi he cracks his official whip
over the heads of those in ofNce
under him declaring that any ad-
verse criticism of the administra-
tion would cost the offender the loss
of his place. His mighty mugwump
beetlness is a stench in the nostrils
of the people he has so long outrag-
ed.
Statistics complied by the New
York Herald show that during last
year more than 113000000 was be-
queathed to charitable missionary
and educational institutions in this
Country to say nothing of the mil-
lions given to charity by generous
persons whom derth has spared to
continue to do good to their fellow
men In view of these facts it can-
not be said that men of wealth are
indifferent to the needs of their
poorer brethren.
The next general assembly will
elect a United States Senator to
succeed Hon. James K. Jones.
There will probably be four aspir-
ants for the position Senator J- K
Joins Ex-Gov. J I*.Eagle Gov. J.
P. Clarke and Col. W. M. Fallback.
Candidates for state senator and
representatives will be called out on
this question and it is proper that
they should tell which of the candi-
dates they would vote for. Wal-
dron reporter

There is more catarrh in this sec-

diseases put together nnd until the
last few years was supposed to be
incurable. For a greot many years

with local treatment pronounced
it incurable' Science has proven
catarrh to be a constitutional di-

Blck Headache and Neuralgia Cured
by Hood's.
“ Hood’s Sarsaparilla has done me a great
deal of good. I have been a sufferer from
sick headache and neuralgia nearly all my
life. The pains had become so intense |
that my hands would cramp for hours ao
that I could not use them. The doctor '
told my husband there was little help for
me. The different medicines tried had
greatly disheartened me. Since using two
bottles of Hood’s Sarsaparilla I have real-
ized relief so much so that I feel like a new
person. Our little boy ti rt
has been troubled A* 1
with his throat but
since taking Hood’s Sarsaparilla soreness
nnd hoarseness have gonoiuid he is better
in health.” Mrs. Mattie Gupton
