KILLED HIS BROTHER.
Flippin Hill Shoots ;and Kills His
Brother George Hill.
Last night on tße Sandy Hill
farm on Red river Which is rented
by J. S. M. Jones and worked by a
family of negroes by the name of
Hill a killing was had where one
brother killed another.
It seems that Flippin Hill a ne
gro boy about 20 old and a
companion got into i George Hill’s
bed and went to sleep while the
latter was off at church with his
wife and when he returned he
woke the boys up and tried to
make them get out and go into an-
other room to sleep. Failing to
arouse them he took’Flippin by the
leg and pulled him out on the floor
and the boy got up fighting mad
with a shoe in his hand. George
Hill was thoroughly mad by this
time and he gave his brother a
whipping and when the lad got
away he waited until his brother
was asleep when he procured a
shot gun and entering the room
with a lamp fired the contents of
the gun into the sleeping man’s
head. He made his escape from
the house and wasjoined by Cur-
iy his companion who had left the
house previous to thf shooting but
who came back when he heard the
shooting. They came On to town and
gave themselves up t» jailor Butler.
Mr. Jones also canife to town and
we are indebted to < him for the
above version of the killing.
A KING ASSASSINATED.
Humbert of Italy was Shot Dead
While Riding in His Carri-
age at Moanza.
Moanza Italy July 30.—King
Humbert has been assassinated.
He was shot here last evening by a
man named Angelo Bressi and died
in a few minutes.
The King had been attending a
distribution of prizes in connection
with a gymnastic competition. He
had just entered his carriage with
his aid de-camp amid the cheers of
the crowd when he was struck by
three revolver shots fired is succes-
sion.
One pierced the heart of his Maj-
esty who fell back and expired in a
few minutes.
The assassin was immediately’ ar-
rested and was with some difficulty
saved from the fury of the popu-
lace.
He gave his name as Angelo Bres-
si describing himself as from Prato
in Tuscany.
The prize distribution took place
about 10 o’clock.
Going to Baker Springs
Mr. Ben M. Foreman received a

him if he could accomodate a party
of seven who will leave in the

says he has ample accomodation for
all who may go.

We would call the attention of
the Miller County Democratic Ex-
ecutive committee to the fact that
the State Central Committee has
requested that Bryan and Steven-
son clubs be formed in every voting
precinct on the 4th of August.
Now while no one fears that Miller
count}’ stands in danger of being
republicanized still we should be
alert and get out the full strength
of the vote on election day and we
can do this better by a concert of
action through thorough organiza-
tion than any other way. Just let
us organize and imagine that the
republicans have a full ticket in the
field and go for them like killing
snakes.
Many thousands have been re-
stored to health and happiness by
the use of Chamberlain’s Cough
Remedy. If afflicted with any lung
or throat trouble give it a trial for
it is certain to prove benlicial.
Coughs that have resisted all other
treatment tor years have yielded
to this remedy and perfect health
been restored. Cases that seemed
hopeless that the climate of fa-
mous health resorts failed to bene-
fit have been permanently cured by
its use. Bear in mind that every
bottle is warranted and if it does
not prove beneficial the money will
be refunded to you. For sale by

We made a trip to Rose Hill on
Saturday evening and saw many
houses being built in that part of
the city and improvements of va-
rious kinds going on. Rose Hill is
the coming residence portion of
Texarkana Texas or in other words
it will be what Fairview Quality
Hill and College Hill are to the East
Side. We expect that in five years
from now to see many fine houses
erected on the hill and a good elec-
tric car service traversing the main
part of the residence portion.
QUESTION ANSWERED
Yes August Flower still has the largsst
sale oflany medicine in the civilized world.
Your mothers’ and grandmothers’ never
thought of using anything else for indi-
gestion or biliousness. Doctors were
scarce and they seldom heard of appen-
dicitis nervous prostration or heart fail-
ure etc. They used August Flower to
clean out the system and stop fermenta-
tion of undigested food regulate the ac-
tion of the Ivor stimulate the nervous and
organic action of the system and that is
all they took when feeling dull and had
with headaches uad other aches. You on-
ly need a few doses of (Ireen's August
Flower in liquid form to make you satis-
fied there is nothing serious the matter
with you. For sale by Smith Drug Co-
R. M. Autrey passed through the
city yesterday morning enroute
home to Redwater frbm Little Riv-
er county where his wife and
daughter were visiting relatives.
Mr Autrey srys the crop prospect
in Little River county was about an
average but down at Redwater the
crops were above 'an average. He
also stated.that politics was-getting
red hot and it was his opinion that
Bryan and Stevenson would sweep
the country with a heavy majority.
