until the next meeting, April 14.
COMMODITIES TO CONTINUE
In a report from the Hill Country
Community Action agency, it was
revealed that the federal govern-
ment has cut contributions to many
programs, and that for the food
and commodity give-aways each
month of the elderly and needy
could continue' if the Commission-
ers were to add 1 cent per pound
toward the cost of a five month
period.
To date the average amount of
cheese given, out has been 3802
pounds per month. The commis-
sioners agreed to support the
program and voted for the
necessary additional costs for its
continuance. The program may, it
was learned, begin to receive more
funds from the federal government
in October.

Thursday, March 27, classes in
Goldthwaite will be dismissed and
buses will run at 2:30 p.m.
Teachers will be involved in an
inservice training session begin-
ning at 2:45 p.m. to fulfill the
mandate requiring inservice train-
ing on child abuse.
There will be no school on
Friday, March 28. This will be a
holiday for students and for
teachers. School offices will also be
closed on Friday. Classes will
resume and buses will run at the
regular time on Monday, March
31.
Also, Friday, April 4, has been
set aside to use as a makeup day
for school days missed during the
year for bad weather, etc. Unless
something drastic happens between
now and Friday, April 4, that day
will also be a holiday for students
and for teachers.
Friday, April 11, is the day that
will be utilized to make up the day
classes were cancelled on February
28, due to the early playing time
for the regional basketball game.
Other holidays scheduled for the
remainder of the school term are:
Friday, April 18; Monday, April
21; and Monday, May 26.
