Goldthwaite’s Lady
Eagles, champions of District
8-AA this year, paced the
team with the selection of Jen-
nifer Moore, senior, as the
Most Valuable Player of the
district. Other first team selec-
tions were senior Karen Gees-
lin and junior Gena West. Sec-
ond team selections were
sophomore Brooke McCa-
sland and senior Nikki Hud-
son. Honorable mention hon-
ors went to juniors Renae
Head and Joanna Witty. On
the boys side, first team All
District selections were se-
niors Jon Robello and Bryan
Jernigan. Receiving honor-
able mention were senior
Andy Beard and junior Keith
Cockrum.
Two Goldthwaite Band So-
loists were awarded a First
Division rating at the Univer-
sity of Interscholastic League
Solo and Ensemble Contest in
Weatherford. Brandon Jack-
son and Nazario Aguirre per-
formed their solos for the
Judge and were awarded a
First Division rating and a
medal.
Mills County 4-H members
who completed record books
received a trip to Holiday in
the Park at Six Flags. Those
who attended were: Clifford
Adams, Staci Jernigan, Rus-
sell Miles, Joy Blackstock,
Sandy House, Regan Miles,
Anna Lynn Beard, JoAnn
House, Becky Morgan, Jenni-
fer Blackstock, Todd Morgan
and Keri Reynolds.

of 1,383 people and it seems
like nearly everyone of them .

in 1947, 1948, 1953, 1956,
and 1962 at Houston. They
won Reserve honors in 1948,
