Halfback Tye Moseley led
the Eagles rushers with 160
yards on 16 carries, with the
longest being 40 yards. He
scored three touchdowns.
On the defensive side, evi-
dence of how the Eagles are
playing can be found in the
fact that there were only seven
solo tackles recorded in the
game, followed by an astound-
ing 99 assists. To call the
Eagles defense “swarming” is
an understatement.
Goldthwaite’s first score
came with 8:18 to go in the
opening period when Moseley
carried in from the seven yard
line. Key play on the drive was
a 43 yard scamper around left
end by Walt Clifton. Bryan
Miller was perfect on the
evening with the point after
kicks, going eight for eight.

Proposed Goldthwaite Airport program
presented at Lions Club meeting
Julie and Stephen Schwartz, members of the Goldthwaite
Airport Committee, presented a great program to Lion's Club
Tuesday evening. They shared information and a short video
tape, provided by TxDot Aviation, about airports. Stephen
remarked, “We have great local government and commu-
nity support for this project without raising taxes,” and “the
airport would be for general aviation only, no military air-
craft or scheduled airline service. Civilian aircraft make less
noise than a running lawnmower.” Julie stated, “We are
currently looking at combining the construction along with
a highway project to save construction dollars and re-
sources.” She also said that “the committee is looking to-
wards donations and fundraising in addition to the limited
TxDot Aviation grant money.”

United States Constitution. Fountain’s presentation was very well received by the stu-
dents. He was given an Eagles football T-shirt by Eagle footballers Jefferson Wesson,
center, and Landon Schwartz, right. A complete story can be found on Page Six.
