the transplant.
A fund has been set up to help
the family raise that deposit. To

Community urged to try 'Thanksliving'
By Bethany Russell

Thanks were given Sunday night by a
cross-section of believers grateful for their
s town, their country and their Lord Jesus. The
annual Community Thanksgiving Service a
Leonard High School was a celebration of
sorts, complete with rousing choruses, pup-
pets, skits and even cookies and punch.
“This was great,” one woman said. Indeed,
the event was upbeat and fun, yet plenty of
thankful prayers were offered for things big
and small.
■ “We’re blessed,” Assembly of God Pastor
Mike Davis said. “The poorest that we help
through the local relief fund are better off than
many people in other countries.”
Davis encouraged Christians to realize
, they are all in the same family of God and
asked them to united and make a difference
in Leonard. “We have different ideas of wor-
ship, but we’ve got the same Lord,” he said. “I
believe that Earth is preparation for Heaven.
God may punish some of you and put your
mansion right next to mine,” he joked.

It’s beginning to look a lot
like Christmas everywhere, and
in Leonard in particular as the
town gets ready for it’s most
beloved traditions - the Christmas
Lighting Contest, the Tour of
Homes, and the Chamber of
Commerce Christmas Parade.
The Christmas Parade kicks
off the holiday season for the
town Saturday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. .
Prior to the parade, children can
get their Christmas wishes in
early - Santa will be on hand for
picture taking from 2 p.m. to 4
p.m. at the gazebo.
The parade theme is "I'll Be
Home For Christmas,” and groups
and organizations are invited to
participate. There is no entry fee,
but prizes will be awarded to the
top entries in several divisions:
best float, children’s division,
walking/marching division,
motorized entries, and horse/
animal division. The Leonard
High School band has been
cordially invited to perform as
well.
Next week’s Leonard Graphic
