Sarah Andry hosted the Ce-
leste Coffee Club last week in
the.bank. Members attending
were Johnnie Lacy Stapleton,
Lucy Ann Griffitt, Bethalyne
Lyon, Gladys Linton, Christine
Carrington, Nellie Warwick,
Betty Mulkey, Ruby Jo Warren,
Frances Reynolds, Jayne Wil-
liams, Sue McDoftald, Jo Willa
Pierson, Frankie Jackson, Shirley
Colgrove and Myrna Patterson.
The members enjoyed tables
decorated’ with a farmhouse,
barn and farm animals theme,
napkins with pretty horse scenes
and good snacks. Andry talked
about the highlights of their trip
to Palau where they visited fam-
ily and friends. The group also
sent cards to the shut-ins.
CYSA to hold parents
meeting Sunday
The Celeste Youth Sports
Association will be holding
its annual parent’s meeting to
discuss the baseball, softball
and T-Ball season on Sunday,
Jan. 23, 2005 at 2 p.m, in the
Celeste Elementary cafeteria.
The election for the 2005 CYSA
Board will also take place that
day as well as coach sign-ups.
Registration for ball season has
begun and forms can be turned
in during the meeting:

tions should be made to Nancy
Myers and will also be accepted
on the day of the meeting. "This
is your chance to make a differ-
ence in Celeste's youth sports,”
one organizer said. "Without
volunteers, our kids would not
have the opportunity to play ball
in their home town.” -

The First Baptist Church of
Celeste will host the Third Annu-
al Chili/Stew Cook-Off Sunday,
Jan. 23, at 12:30 p.m. Thechurch
asks men to bring a pot of chili
or stew and women to bring their
favorite dessert to share. Prizes
will be awarded for the best chill

Jan. 25, 2005, the City of
Celeste, Texas, shall hold a
public hearing at City Hall,
201 N. Hwy. 69, regarding
a proposed grant application
to the Texas Parks & Wild-
life Department’s (the De-
partment) Texas Recreation
&. Parks Account Program
(TRPA).
Topics to be discussed in-
clude the application for funds
to construct or improve a pub-
lic park to benefit the entire
City of Celeste, the amount
of TRPA funding available, all
TRPA eligible activities and
TRPA match requirements.
The application shall be
available for review at the
City Hall after the hearing
date. The application shall be
submitted to the Department
no later than January 31,2005.
Public comment regarding the
application shall be accepted
at the Celeste City Hall until
Friday, Jan. 28,2005. ,
