“covering” and men should not,
Jesus looked like the ordinary
Jew of His day. He didn’t look
different. In fact, Judas had to
kiss Him on the cheek so that
Jesus’ enemies could arrest
Him.
Even in the New Testament
the Apostle Paul was inspired
by God to write, ‘‘Does not even
nature itself teach you, that, if
a man have long hair it is a
shame unto him?” (I Cor. 11:14).
All these things prove that
most pictures which are sup-
posed to show how Christ looked
are utterly false.
Then there are those who say
that Jesus was a law-breaker
because He drove the cattle and
money changers out of the
Temple (Mat. 21:12-16).
But this doesn’t show dis-
obedience to civil authority.
Actually Jesus had the right
to do so because He was the
Son of God and this was the
Temple of God. And the Temple

belongs to God, not man or the

Jesus told them, “My house
shall be called the house of
prayer, but you have made it
a den of thieves.” And Jesus
wasn’t arrested for doing any-
thing unlawful because they
knew no law had been broken.
No, Jesus didn’t break the
law. He urged His disciples to
obey them, saying, “The
scribes and the Pharisees sit
in Moses’ seat: All therefore
whatsoever they bid you ob-
serve, that observe and do; but
do not ye after their works:
for they say, and do not” (Mat.
23:2-3).
However, Christians were
urged by the Apostle Paul to
obey the civil government when-
ever it didn’t conflict with God’s
laws. ,
“We ought to obey God rather
than man” (Acts 5:29). "Let
every soul be subject unto the
higher powers. For there is no
power but of God: the powers
that be are ordained of God
(Romans 13:1-7). “Whatsoever

Guest Stars
Announced For
Prison Rodeo
The 40th Annual Texas Pri-
son Rodeo, scheduled in Hunts-
ville in the Prison Stadium
five Sundays in October will
highlight thrilling convict rodeo
contests plus the best in Country
and Western music featuring the
nation’s top performers.
Guest stars include Dottie
West and the Heartaches on
October 3; Connie Smith and
Nat Stuckey on October 10;
Charlie Walker on October 17;
the Waylon Jennings Show on
October 24; and the Porter
Wagoner Show on October 31.
Another feature each Sunday
will be the popular Chuckwagon
Races and the thrilling Chariot
Races by convict clowns.
For the first time in the his-
tory of the Prison Rodeo, the
series will open without either
a former or defendingchampion
in the saddle, said Hoot Craw-
ford, arena director. This
should develop keener competi-
tion among the convict contes-
tants, Crawford said.
The fast-moving rodeo, rated
as the “Wildest Show on Earth,”
(civil authority), resists the
ordinance of God: and they that
resist shall receive to them-
selves damnation. For rulers
are not a terror to good works,
but to the evil.”
How does this compare with
the way some ministers in this
nation have been leading and
urging followers to disobey
U. S. laws and resist society?
