Solid Ground
When Jesus Comes
Back To The Earth,
Will He Find Faith

Jesus Christ asked this question
of His disciples when He was on
this earth: "When the Son of man
comes, will he find faith on
earth?" (Luke 18:8).
And the Saviour had good reason
to ask such a question, since He
was able to look into the future
and see just how bad things would
be in this world before His second
coming to the earth.
The Lord had just told His
disciples in the beginning of
Chapter 18 that they should
continually pray and not to lose
heart in their religion. And this is
certainly an admonishment for all
Christians not only in that age but
also in ours.
It was quite evident that Jesus
’didn’t even find much faith among
people in His day. He often
commented, "O you of LITTLE
FAITH."
The Scribes and Pharisees were
too busy trying to obey all the
sacrificial laws and statutes that
they overlooked the most import-
ant part of their religion - faith
and trust in God. He called them
"hypocrites" and other not so
complementary names because of
their “self-righteous” attitude.
From the outside, these so-
called religious people appeared to
be pure and holy. But Jesus could
see into their sinful heart and
knew that they were full of evil
thoughts and even committed evil
deeds when they thought they
would not be caught or seen by
others.
They were trying to SAVE
THEMSELVES through literal
obedience to all the laws of Israel
but in actuality were missing the
whole point of God's Way of life
which comes through faith and
dependence on the Creator God
and not in trusting ourselves or
anyone or anything else.
But is the situation any better
today? No, actually things are
much worse, just as Christ
DO
predicted they would be.
A broad majority of church-
going people use their church as a
social club where they meet and
fellowship. It's a place to show off
• their new clothes and to put on a
pious look and attitude.
This is why the young people
and a majority of the people today
have rebelled against organized
religion and are living without any
religious activity and moral code.
