Lexington Police Report
April 30,2007
Det. CpI. Carvin and ()fc. Bums
were dispatched to the east city
limits in reference to an intoxicated
driver who was traveling west-
bound and expected to enter the
city limits shortly. The vehicle was
described as a blue or purple
Dodge Neon driven by an His-
panic male. The officers w aited at
the Texaco station for the vehicle
to enter the city limits. Deputy
Crockett radioed that the suspect
vehicle had just passed him and
had his turn indicator on. The of-
ficers observed the ’vehicle pull
into the parking lot and pull up to
a gas pump. The driver. ID'd as
Jose Antonio Vasquez, was obv i-
ously intoxicated and was imme-
diately placed under arrest and
seated in the back of the patrol
car. An open container of beer
was located between the two front
seats and was taken as evidence.
Vasquez was transported to the
GPD where he ref used to give his
date of birth. He was subse-
quently charged with DWI with
an open alcohol container and fail-
ure to identify.
May 1, 2007
Det. Carvin met with Melody
Jaehne at the GPD in reference to
a stolen vehicle. Melody and her
husband Mark, are part ow ners of
a local business, Lexus Oil.
Melody stated that on Saturday,
April 28, one of their work trucks,
w hich was parked at a warehouse
in the 900 blk. of E. Independence
was stolen by an employee. ID'd
as Corey Moore. On Saturday
Melody received a call form an-
other employee w ho informed her
that Moore had stolen the truck.
Moore was not given permission
by Melody or Mark to use the
truck on this date. Melody stated
that Moore did no show up for
work on Monday or Tuesday and
numerous people attempted to
contact him on his cell phone nu
merous times, but he would not
answer or return the calls. Melody
signed a complaint against Moore
for unauthorized use of a motor
vehicle. The stolen truck is a 2002
FordF- 150 crew cab, tan in color,
bearing Texas LP 7GM 1.38 The
vehicle was entered in TCIC as
stolen. At approximately 10:40am.
Det. Carvin received a call from
Melody who advised that the
truck had been brought back and
was parked at the warehouse from
where it had been stolen. She
stated that she still wanted to pur-
sue the charges against Moore.
The vehicle was removed from
TCIC. Case active, pending war-
rant.
May 1, 2007
Det. Carvin was dispatched for
a gas drive off that had just oc-
curred at KP Foods. The suspect
vehicle was last seen traveling
west on Austin Street. Det. Carvin
traveled to the west city limits and
was unable to locate the vehicle.
She then met with the reporting
person, Maricela Sanchez, an em-
ployee of KP Foods, who de-
scribed the suspect as a w hite male
in his late 20's wearing blue jeans,
a blue shirt and a maroon baseball
cap. She was unable to obtain a
LP # on the vehicle.

Det. Carvin was dispatched to
the GPD to meet with a complain-
ant in reference to criminal mis
chief. Upon arrival, she met with
Bobby Martin who staled that
over the past few weeks he has
noticed numerous dents and
scratches to his vehicle, a 1999
Lincoln Town Car. He believes that
the damage occurred at the
Giddings Middle School, where he
is an employee, or at his residence.
He will view the surveillance tape
from the Middle School. A close
patrol was put into effect for
Martin's residence and patrol will
be increased around the middle
school during the daytime. At this
time, there are no suspects. Case
w ill remain open, but inactive.

Complainant. Michael Baker
was at the GPD to report an as-
sault Officers observed a cut to
his nose and bloody clothing. An
investigation was conducted and
Lasharwn Chappel was arrested
and charged with aggravated as-
sault.

Lt. Harney received a call from
dispatch in reference to some type
of spill on the roadway at the 100
blk. to the SOO blk. of E. Austin.
Upon arrival at the scene he no-
ticed that the roadway appeared
to have some type of oil on it. He
found the vehicle responsible for
the spill at the 800 blk. of E. Aus-
tin behind Tetco Store. He spoke
with the driver ID'd as Corey
Ephram who said when he was
driving through town, he noticed
that his truck was leaking the used
cooking grease he was carrying.
He said he stopped to check it out
and he noticed that a plug to one
of the big tanks came out and
caused the grease to leak out. Lt.
Harney advised Mr. Ephram that
he had cooking grease spilled for
about 12 blocks. He repaired the
tank and cleaned up the excess
grease from the back of the truck.
He was issued a citation for Fail to
Secure Load and released. Due to
the grease being a safety hazard
the VFD was called out for traffic
control along with the City Street
Dept. and TX DO T. DPS and the
Sheriff 's Office also provided of-
ficers for traffic control. The esti-
mated cost with manpower from
the City of Giddings and materials
used is approx. $2.1867. TX DO T
w ill also be sending the company.

Det. Carvin met with Annette
Hill from Allstar Convenience
Store in referenced to a forged
check The check had been passed
at Allstar #5 on April 23 by Noe
Gutierrez for $100. The check was
written on Beverly Dobrowsky's
account at First National Bank.
Annette stated that she had con-
tacted Beverly when she learned
that the check had been forged and
Beverly stated to Annette that she
would be filing a police report. The
check was processed through
First National Bank and was re-
turner! as lost or stolen. The clerk
who took the check. ID'd as Liz,
was able to identify Noe because
she knows him personally. Det.
Carvin received a copy of the
check and provided Annette with
a statement form to give to Liz.
Det. Carvin made numerous at-
tempts to contact Beverly at the
'phone number listed on the check.
All attempts were unsuccessful.
Det. Carvin left her card at
Beverly's residence at 557 E.
Hempstead, but has not received
a response. She w ill contact First
National Bank to ascertain if
Beverly has filed a forgery affida-
vit. A copy of the check is in-
cluded in the case file. Case cur-
rently under investigation.
May 4. 2007
Ofc. Burns was dispatched to
Texaco Gas Station at 4125 E. Aus-
tin in reference to someone hitting
the side of the building causing
damage and leaving. She met with
Crystal Scott who stated that a
white male driving a white old look-
ing Cadillac hit the side of the
store and left the scene. Ofc.
Burns walked around to the east
side of the Texaco store and no-
ticed a blue barrel that had been
dented and the side of the build-
ing that had been damaged when
the vehicle hit the building. She
asked Scott if the store got any-
thing on video and she said she
did not know. After speaking with
the store clerk, a witness ID'd as

Ken Barber stated he was sitting
on the side of the building when
the male driving the vehicle hit the
side of the store. Barber said the
subject stated he was going to
Wal-Mart and to Auto Zone to get
something for his brakes. Ofc.
Burns informed Scott and the store
clerk that she would try to locate
the subject and have him come
back to the store and give his in-
formation. She entered the Wal-
Mart parking lot and drove toward
the back and located the vehicle
on the east side of the parking lot.
She made contact with the driver,
Dodrell Mitchell Rader. After
questioning Rader he did admit to
hitting the side of the building and
Ofc. Burns informed him that she
was going to take him back to the
store so he could give all his in-
formation to the clerk, so his in-
surance can pay for the damages.
She gave Rader an escort to the
Texaco store and he gave Scott all
of his information and where he
could be contacted.
May 6, 2007
Sgt. Montgomery was dis-
patched to the 1900 blk. of W.
Austin in reference to a car in the
ditch. Upon arrival, he observed
a green Dodge Intrepid stuck in
the ditch on the eastbound side
of the roadway. He observed two
males attempting to get the car out
of the ditch and made contact with
the owner of the vehicle ID'd as
Gonzalo Layna. While talking with
Layna who knew very little En-
glish, he detected the odor of an
alcoholic beverage coming from
his breath. Lyana’s eyes were
bloodshot and glassy. He admit-
ted to drinking four beers. Layna
was the driver of the vehicle when
it ran off the road into the ditch.
With the circumstance listed
above, Sgt. Montgomery felt that
Layna was an endangerment to
himself and others. He was ar-
rested and charged with public
intoxication.
May 6, 2007
Ofc. Burns and Det. Carvin re-
ceived a call from dispatch in ref-
erence to a disturbance in
progress at 394 N. Dallas. The
complainant, Keesha Davis came
to the GPD and wanted to file
charges against Kimberly Gail
Lewis. Davis and Lewis got in a
verbal confrontation. As Lewis
was trying to leave the residence,
she struck Davis' right leg caus-
ing redness and bruising.
May 6. 2007
Ofc. Kays activated overhead
emergency lights and hit his siren
in an attempt to stop a vehicle in
the 100blk. of S. Polk for a traffic
violation. The driver disregarded
and kept traveling at a slow pace
on S. Polk. The vehicle finally
stopped in the 400 blk. of S. Polk.
After making contact with the
driver, ID'd as Reginald Hancock
he was asked to exit his vehicle
and walk to the back. Sgt. Mont-
gomery was also on scene and
asked Hancock if he was aware
that a patrol unit was behind him
indicating him to slop his vehicle.
He stated “Yes, 1 was just trying
to get home". Hancock was then
placed under arrest for evading
arrest/detention with a vehicle.
After an inventory of the vehicle.
crack cocaine
and
hydrocodeinone was recovered.
Two other occupants. ID'd as
Bruce Wayne Dunn and Donald
Lewis Shelton II were also arrested
for possession of a controlled sub-
stance.

The Lexington Police Depart-
ment has received increasing com-
plaints regarding traffic failing to
stop for school buses loading and
unloading children on local
streets. Motorists failing to stop
for the loading or unloading of
children from school buses place
our children in grave danger and
run the risk of criminal prosecu-
tion. The 2007 school year is
quickly coming to a close and the
Lexington Police Department is
asking local motorists to assist us
in ensuring our students’ safety
for the remainder of the school
year.
Chief Davis and the Officers of
the Lexington Police Department
would like to thank Constable
Buster Dussetschleger, Sheriff
Rodney Meyer and the Deputies
of the Lee County Sheriffs Depart-
ment for their presence and assis-
tance in the 2007 Homecoming
events. Your participation cer-
tainly helped make homecoming
safer for all.

Officer Stahl received a report
of a loose horse in the area of Ave
G and Shaw Street. The horse was
located and put back in its enclo-
sure without incident
May 1, 2007
Officer Hilton received a report
of Theft from a residence in the
area of Simpson Street. The com-
plainant declined to pursue
charges at this time.
Officer Hilton received a com-
plaint of a reckless driver entering
town on Hwy 77. The vehicle was
identified and observed, however
no violations were witnessed with
in the jurisdiction of Lexington.
Officer Stahl while conducting
traffic enforcement in the area of
Hwy 77 initiated a traffic stop on a
vehicle for speeding. During the
traffic stop, the officer discovered
the driver was operating the ve-
hicle while his license was sus-
pended or invalid. The driver was
taken into custody and trans-
ported to Lee County Jail where
he was charged with Driving
While License Suspended.
May 3, 2007
Chief Davis received a com-
plaint of a vehicle passing a
school bus on Hwy 77 while the
bus was unloading children, the
vehicle was not identified: how-
ever. extra patrols of bus routes
are being arranged.
Chief Davis received a request
for a civil standby to allow for the
removal of personal property from
a residence. The incident was
handled without issues.
Chief Davis responded to the
Elementary School for an upset
child. The child was released to
parents.
Chief Davis received a com-
plaint of a large dog in the area of
3rd Street and Giddings. The mat-
ter was turned over to the Lexing-
ton ACO for follow up.
May 4, 2007
Officer Hilton received a report
of two 18 wheeled trucks trans-
porting mobile home sections were
losing shingles on the hwy creat-
ing a traffic hazard. The officer
made contact with the drivers and
the problem was corrected.

Officer Hilton was dispatched
to locate a vehicle being operated
in a reckless manner. No violations
were witnessed in the city limits,
however contact was made and the
driver was identified
Officer Stahl w hile patrolling the
Rodeo Grounds located a white
female claiming she could not lo-
cate her vehicle and feared the
vehicle had been stolen. The fe-
male was intoxicated and pre-
sented a danger to herself. The
female's vehicle was located in the
parking area, and two bottles of
whiskey were recovered from the
vehicle, and claimed by the female
as purchased by her to provide to
under aged friends following the
rodeo. The female was taken into
custody, and transported to Lee
County SO w here she was booked
in on Public Intoxication charges,
and then transported to Giddings
PD for holding.
May 5, 2007
Officer Hilton received a report
of an imminent fight between two
males during the Homecoming
festival. A search of the area for
the two men resulted in not locat-
ing a fight, or other disturbance.
Officer Hilton received a request
for services after a motorist locked
their keys inside a vehicle. Owens
Wrecker Service was called and
was able to unlock the vehicle.
Officer Hilton received a com-
plaint of loud music in the 1100
blk of Caldwell. Contact was made
with the violator, who complied
with officer's request to lower the
music level.
Officer Hilton received a com-
plaint of juvenile males shooting
rubber pellet guns in and around
the crowds during Homecoming.
The males were advised to stop
the actions, or the guns would be
confiscated.
Chief Davis received a credit
card reported found in the area of
the Homecoming festival. The card
was taken into custody, and at-
tempts are being made to contact
the owner and bank.
Chief Davis received a report of
lost and found property when a
set of keys was located and turned

into police. The reporting person
stated the keys were located in the
festival area. The keys have not
been claimed at this time.
Chief Davis received a report of
found keys in the area of the town
square. The keys were identified
as keys lost earlier in the day by
an individual, and were returned
to the owner.
Sgt Connolly initiated an arrest
of a w hite female for public intoxi-
cation follow ing the homecoming
festival. The female was trans-
ported to Lee County jail and then
on to Giddings PD for holding.

Officer Hilton received a report
of missing keys from the previous
night The keys have not been lo-
cated or turned in to police at this
time.
Officer Hilton received a com-
plaint of a burglary of a Habita-
tion in the area of Gary Street, The
matter remains under investiga-
tion.
Officer Hilton located a suspi-
cious container on Belton Street
and upon further investigation,
discovered numerous beers lo-
cated in the container, and pre-
sumably placed in the area for con-
sumption by minors. The beer was
poured out to prevent illegal con-
sumption.
Chief Davis received a report of
a burglary of a motor vehicle. The
owner of the vehicle reported the
vehicle being parked near the
Masonic Lodge during the home-
coming events, while the owner
served snow cones in front of the
Masonic Lodge. The owner re-
ported numerous CDs, cash and
several business checks taken
from the center console of the ve-
hicle. The matter remains under
investigation.
Chief Davis received a report of
a possible attempted burglary of a
residence in the area of 10"’ Street.
The property owner reported he
was at home when he witnessed
several teen males enter onto his
property and attempt to enter the
home through a window. The prop-
erty owner startled the males who
fled the area in a pick up truck.
The investigation into this matter
is continuing.
