In our opinion...
Dorm life beneficial
As always we will end the year on a good note.
When this year started we wondered how we would Fit into
the 'dorm life'. Well, things got off to a good start after people
started making an effort to communicate with each other.
The girls made a mad dash to the nearest variety store to pur-
chase the cheapest, most expensive-looking decor they could
find. Now it's time to split up the 'junk' and head for home. If
it fits in the car, it'll be a miracle.
The dorm offers students a chance to pull together and ac-
cept each other as unique individuals. One realizes that with a
little patience and understanding, misunderstandings can be
settled. Some guy had the nerve to appreciate the same coed
you'd been eyeing for the past week. The battle's settled - no
scars.
Living in the dorm gives the student an opportunity to par-
ticipate in daily campus events not so readily available to off-
campus residents. There's always fence climbing.
The advantages of living on campus are incomprehensible.
We have easy access to the library, student center,
gymnasium,...etc., at free will. We also get to know more
students, instructors and staff on a friendly basis.
WTC offers a student advantages that other colleges are not
able to provide. We could go to school night and day with such
a variety of classes being offered. It also gives a student the
chance to have a one-on-one relationship with instructors who
care about a students progress.
So we end another successful year and prepare for 84-85, a
repeat of this year, or maybe even better....

to receive such feedback.

The time we thought would
never come has finally arrived.
Now we typically reflect on the
past year or two at WTC. Our
friends are embarking in new
directions and colleges across
the nation will become new
homes for the graduates.
These last two years have
Graduation kindles memories;
staff deserves special thank you
been a special segment of my
life. It's a great feeling to
know that if I had it to do
over, I would come here again.
This time of the year is filled
with memories from yesterday
and curiosities for tomorrow.
Where do we go from here?
Am I making the right deci-
sion? Whatever your thoughts
may be, I sincerely hope that
you travel the new horizons
that this graduation is presen-
ting.
So often we become en-
tangled in our own affairs,
that we lose track of people
and fail to slow down long
enough to breathe. End this
semester with a smile and an
aura of positiveness. Before
you realize it, time has run out
and you still haven't made
amends with that certain so-
meone or you never really got
to know him/her as well as
you'd hoped to. Life is too
short to bypass people so go
ahead and break out the ad-
dress books.

A very special thank you to
the staff of The Western Tex-
an. Each person has con-
tributed so much. Darla Doty
and Beverly Cross are due
great recognition as well for
working right along side the
students to make the bumps a
little smoother. Thank you to
Dr. Ed Barkowsky for con-
tinually supporting the staff.
We'll put the Texan to bed
this final time as sophomores
and each one of them is greatly
appreciated.

Dear Editor:
The members and sponsors
of Psi Zeta Chapter of Phi
Theta Kappa would like to say
"thank you". As the semester
comes to an end, we took note
and realized how fortunate we
are. Psi Zeta could not have
had the successful year that we
had without the support and
cooperation of the faculty, ad-
ministration, staff and student
body of Western Texas Col-
lege. We would especially like
to thank those who made con-
tributions for the faculty auc-
tion and those who purchased
the items. We could not have
had the auction without Jerry
Baird. We also thank those
who supported the
starveathon and are helping
with the Jumpathon.
As we so often say, "Psi
Zeta, Absolutely Greata!" but
not without the help of the
students, staff, faculty and ad-
ministration of WTC.
Thank you.

Rodeo were a success due to
the efforts of many dedicated
individuals. Their time and ef-
fort put forth is greatly ap-
preciated. They should be
commended for a job well
done. Many thanks to Mr. and
Mrs. Jerry Baird, Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Doty, Pam Johnson
and the WTC Rodeo team.
