Davenport: "Alien

Sunday was an emotional afternoon for Superinten-
dent Gene Davenport.
The Allen School board of trustees, district em-
ployees and friends gathered at a special reception hon-
oring Davenport and wished him success for his future.
Davenport will leave the district after seven and a half
years to become the administrator for field services of
the Texas Education Agency on Jan. 3.
. Special Education Director Dorothy Bennett spoke of
