Revival Meeting
Rev. W. H. Strong is holding a
protracted meeting this week at the
Methodist church. Everyone is wel-
come and invited to attend.
Some important business was tran-
sacted and the bible study was en-
joyed.
Mrs. Giles Resumes Music Class
Mrs. Norma Giles has reorganized
her music class and resumed her
teaching on last Monday, Mrs.
Giles has a large class this term and
deserved much credit for her ability
and efforts. She has also begun a
muscial kindergarten and has enroll-
ed a number of the little folks.
Cattle News
R. A. Serna purchased last week
a carload of choice heifer yearlings,
which were shipped to the San An-
toino market.
Combs Cattle Co. sold Saturday to
Mr. Scott, representative of the Pey-
ton Packing Co., El Paso, Texas, a
carload of fat cows.

School Opens Monday, Sept. 12
A large number of patrons and
citizens of the town assembled Mon-
day morning in the High school aud-
itorium. Interesting talks were
made by Supt. Brannon and by Mr.
Nelson. Mr. Wood rendered several
beautiful violin solos accompanied
on the piano by Miss Migell.
A most successful school term is
anticipated and the teachers are
working hard to make the school
year a success.
J. J. Roberts sold to R. A. Serna
a load of calves Saturday. These
were shipped to the San Antonio
market.
Peyton Packing Co. of El Paso,
shipped a carload of choice Combs
calves from R. A. Serna.
Mr. and Mrs. 0. M. Roberts mo-
tored to Marfa Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hunter and
children moved to Marfa, Texas, last
week. Mr. Hunter is an immigra-
tion officer.

Presbyterian Missionary Society
The members of the Presbyterian
Missionary Society met in business
session Tuesday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. G. W. Worthington.
An interesting bible study was en-
joyed.
Miss Sam Nail was taken into the
society as a new member.
Miss Lucille Morrow of Sinton, ar-
rived Thursday to teach home eco-
nomics in the High school. This
is Miss Morrow’s third teaching term
here.
Miss Naomi Griffin arrived Sat-
urday from Devine, Texas. This is
Miss Griffin's third term in the
school here.
