Compton's car wash.
To reminiscent a bit the little cala-
boose was not much larger than the
"bathrooms" called privies then that
were in the back yard of all the best
and middle sized incomes homes.
Those were the days before Jess Mark
dug the first water well and the city
laid the water and sewer lines in 1936.
As to the CALABOOSE usually
the "stone broke" carousers were the
ones thrown in by city marshal, Rit
Marshall. Soon they were released,
early morning unless it was a bad case
of carousing.
The calabose had a small window
grated with heavy iron, the door
looked little likely to withstand a stout
push.
The last big event experienced so
far as I know, at the calaboose was a
kodak snapshot made with three high
school girls pretending to be occu-
pants or else just posing. That is re-
corded for posterity and posted for
history, taken from a CELESTE
COURIER.
Now — who were the girls?

”50’s Day”
The EAG students in the fourth -
seventh grades completed their his-
torical research on the fifties decade
with a contest day. Their research
consisted of personal interviews, find-
ing photographs of the times, and
using album covers from music of the
time. None of their research could be
completed using their traditional
source: Books. They interviewed
parents, teachers, cafeteria workers,
neighbors, etc. They found this dec-
ade to be very interesting to research,
and found many cooperative people
to interview.

hold the Foxes out of the end zone but
they could not prevent a 24 yard field
goal that put the Foxes up 3-0.
A snap into the end zone, that re-
sulted in a safety, another kick off
fumble and a fumble at the line of
scrimmage all contributed to spotting
the Caddo Mills team to a 31-0 first
quarter lead.
The Blue Devils battled to hold the
Foxes to 14 points from that point on.
In the third quarter, quarterback Aaron
Evans broke free for a 24 yard run to
put the Devils on the board. Evans
rushed for a total of 110 yards in the
game.
"We just self-destructed early," said
Coach Dave Denny concerning the
game.
The Blue Devils will host Savoy
for their Homecoming this Friday at
8:00 P.M. Savoy has a 1-2 record.
