Parkway and Bethany Drive were
not settled.
Developers have proposed to eli-
minate Bethany Drive north of
McDermott for environmental
reasons, but Commission Chairman
John Garcia says that may affect
nearby landowners.
On Exchange Parkway, the issue
is coordinating the street’s design
with the state highway department
and the City of McKinney.
The planning and zoning commis-
sion took up the Twin Creeks re-
quest Dec. 10. Its first action was to
hold a public hearing. According to
state law, the commission must
make a recommendation to the city
council within 90 days of the comple-
tion of the public hearing. The com-
mission has until March 11 to make a
recommendation to the Allen City
Council, which has the final say on
the zoning request.
The Twin Creeks proposal is the
largest ever considered by the Allen
Planning and Zoning Commission.
The development is touted by de-
velopers as the next major residen-
tial and industrial develpment on the
U.S. Highway 75 corridor.
