attending the conference with 1,000

The young people from Cuero
participating in the conference are
Mary Yrucgas, Elia DeLos Santos,
Brenda Ortiz, Robert Ruiz II, Jim-
my Rivera, Brian Gomez, Billy
Boone, Vicki Jasso, John Barbon-
lin, Rina Villarreal and Monica
Pena. Sponsors on the trip include
Sylvia Ortiz, Yvon Muniz, Deacon
Robert Ruiz and Mary Lou Ruiz.
They raised $3,700 for the trip
thru fund raising projects and dona-
tions from local businesses and in-
dividuals. The participants thank
the parish and the community for
their support.
They will begin the trip on Mon-
day, August 9 at 3:30 p.m. at Stan-
ley’s parking lot. Groups from
Shiner, Yoakum, Hallettsville and
Meyersville will also ride on the
bus and meet up with six other
buses at Luling. They will proceed
in caravan to Colorado with rest
stops manned by Knights of
Columbus volunteers at Kerrville,
Amarillo and LaMar, Colorado.
World Youth Day celebrates the
faith and life of young people all
over the world. This year, the
People will be joining the youth in
Denver.
